I'm finding yoga too boring.

Hi all, So I exercise most days of the week and decided to add in yoga to help with my fitness goals, however I just can't seem to click with it. The reason I'm finding yoga boring is because it's too calming. I have ADHD and I've always been drawn to things with more adrenaline and why I mainly do high intensity workout, but I've been trying to get this working for a few weeks now. I feel like yoga is just clashing with my personality and I'm incompatible with it. I can't even do a 10 minute session without becoming frustrated without my heart pumping faster. I don't know what I'm expecting, maybe yoga isn't for me or there's something I haven't tried yet. I'm unsure.

My dog passed away and I can’t practice yoga & meditation since then

Hey all, I am looking for some advice or suggestions. My dog passed away last week. I haven’t been able to do yoga or meditate since then because she used to bug me during these practices. It has been incredibly difficult for me, and even the mere thought of practicing brings me so much anxiety because of all the feelings I have right now. I am not sure what I should be doing with regards to my practice. I have been running to move my body. Thanks.

Are there any good youtubers that focus on the spiritual side of yoga for beginners?

Hello, I have very limited beginner's experience with yoga. I did yoga videos regularly as my exercise during Covid for about a year, but always felt underwhelmed by their lack of spiritual focus. I was wondering if anyone knew of any videos that emphasized or explained the spiritual dimension to yoga or even if there was just a course for beginners that could discuss yoga as a traditional practice instead of the Western emphasis on physical health or fitness interpretation.

Could this be used as an alternative to frog pose?

So I am new to yoga. I've found out that I have extremely tight hips. doing a frog pose is not an option and I came up with this pose. I searched the internet but could not find anything similar to this. (if this is an actual pose please let me know). What are the side effects of lying down on one's stomach with weight on elbows (using phone) for extended periods of time?

Couldn't post a picture so I described it as best as I could. You've probably been in this position before, just holding your phone with two hands while laying down on your stomach, head suspended angled down and most of your upper weight on your shoulders/elbows. What are some possible/likely side effects of being in this position for extended periods of time? p.s. sorry if this isnt the right place to ask as i wasnt sure

Best material for mat.

Hello! I recently gave birth and want to get into yoga to limber up. I have been trying to find the best material for a mat but I’m having a tough time with which one is the best for your skin/body. I’m talking in terms of what it’s made of and the chemicals and toxins than can transfer to your skin. I had a PVC one a while ago and read it wasn’t good for your skin (plus it smelled very bad and very strong). I’m hoping for one that isn’t too terribly expensive (maybe around $50 or less?). Does what I’m looking for exist? Any help is appreciated.

sleeping poorly after yoga?

i’m so surprised, after a full day of yoga (gentle too), lots of mindfulness and breathwork, i ended up sleeping really poorly. tossing and turning all night, light sleep only and…i never see this…0 REM minutes. i’m nervous about my upcoming day with this quality of sleep, i have a long drive ahead.

Online yoga teacher that doesn't use "Left" and "Right"?

My partner and I have started doing yoga together but he doesn't know his lefts and rights. Like he knows when he checks but can't just "remember" and "know". It's an issue he has, it's not like he hasn't tried. Anyway! It seems to be frustrating/discouraging him. So are there any online yoga teachers that just instruct you on what to do without using "left" and "right" specifically? We speak English. Thanks!
