Intense wrist pain
Hi all 👋 I decided to start up yoga recently after stopping two years ago. Started with standing flows at first but did my first complete flow "on the ground" today. While doing downward dog, I started having intense pain in my wrists. It continued in upward facing dog too. I tried to get my weight on the balls of my fingers but I can't seem to get them perfectly straight on the mat (my fingers stay sightly bent). Thus my weight is directly on my wrists. What's worrying me is that, when I first did yoga a few years ago, I don't remember having that problem. Can lack of exercise made so my hands aren't strong and flexible enough to sustain certain yoga poses? What can I do to make the pain go away? I would love to get back into yoga, but the pain was unbearable in today's session.. Thank you in advance for the help!

Yoga retreats in nice areas or in nature?
I want to take my girlfriend on a yoga retreat and I’d love to have some recommendations of places to look into that don’t cost an arm and a leg. We were gonna go to Washington so if anyone knows any there that would be cool. Otherwise I’m willing to look in different states too. It’ll just be a weekend thing! Thanks in advance :)

Halasana leading to crampy back in savasana
Hello! I've been practising yoga for a few years now doing a mix of YouTube videos and in person Iyengar classes, but I've recently started doing the first stage of BKS Iyengar's course in the Light on Yoga book. First stage ends with shoulder stand, halasana, savasana. When I lie flat, my lower back gets crampy and uncomfortable, but sorts itself out after a few minutes. I've avoided halasana because of this but wondering if it's just that I'm doing it wrong. I've started doing it with my feet against a wall, legs parallel to the floor, which has reduced the crampiness but not got rid of it. I don't have the same issue with similar shape poses like seated/standing forward fold. Is this a no-go pose for me, or are there other intermediary poses I can try? I'm assuming it could be a lack of back strength? TIA!

I bought a Jade mat.... and I don't like it.
Adding this post for anyone on the market for a new mat. (Granted everything is subjective - I'm sure there are many of you who LOVE their Jade). But hey, maybe someone will find this helpful. I bought my Jade this month, color black, and have practiced on it about 5 times. **What I do not like -** \-It collects a lot of debris - hair, dust... sometimes in class I'll see a blonde hair or something that is clearly not mine sticking on the mat and it turns my stomach. \-Despite the mat being sticky, I find myself sliding in non-heated classes. **Overall-** It's not a bad mat, I just won't be buying another and I hate that I spent so much on it. Have you tried Jade? Are you a fan? If not, what did you switch to?

Liforme vs Manduka vs ??
I’m in the market for a new mat. Usually I practice 3-4x a week and one of those classes is hot yoga. It’s great but my current mat gets slippery and I get nervous about hurting myself! I’ve heard Liforme grip is unparalleled but their mats are thinner than others. I do like some cushion for my knees. Manduka looks good too but I read a lot of reviews saying they are super slippery. Any advice on what to go with? Any other mats I should be looking into? TY!
