It's 8 p.m. and my kids refused dinner.
It was cheeseburgers. They both took a nibble and said they didn't like it. This was after visiting a new splash pad nearby, so they had activity outside. I thought they would be nice and hungry . . . but they rebelled since the cheeseburgers weren't grilled by Wendy herself. I am planning on putting my foot down. No bedtime snack. No extra meal. No bedtime pizza rolls. To top it off, I ate one of the rejected cheeseburgers aside from the one I prepared for myself. Now I feel extra full. Wish me luck.

Newer cars have auto lock. Do not load baby first and put keys down.
Please learn from my mistake. It happened so fast. I put the keys on the floor while i buckled baby in. When i closed the door i new instantly the keys were on the floor. The whole car was locked. I still have no idea how it locked or how it happened but do not put keys down when loading baby. From a traumatized mam Who’s baby is perfectly fine and safe after a wait for the spare key (30 minutes) and many attempts to get into the car. Thank god for irelands cool weather and flash rain this summer Tldr. Put keys in mouth not on floor if you have no pockets. Damn women’s jeans and leggings

Crocodile tears
My mom says when my baby cries (she’s now 5 months) but doesn’t make tears it’s not ‘real crying’ and I should ignore her. Is this just a boomer thing or?

What are your thoughts on drinking and breastfeeding?
Personally, after doing some research and discussing with other mums, I will have a wine or 2 and feel comfortable to breastfeed my baby knowing this won’t have any affect on my LO. I don’t breastfeed anymore but was shocked with some reactions I had from people online and in real life when I would sip on my wine while feeding my baby. What are your thoughts on this topic?

How does anyone pump every 2 hours and not become sleep deprived?
Genuine question from someone who's 5 days PP with our first ☺️. I'm pumping every 2-3 hours and baby eats every 2 hours. How does anyone survive this with sleep?? Waking up every 2 hours? Its not just wake up every two hours , pump, feed, ans then sleep. That alone is about an hour process and then u only get 1 hour to sleep again! Any advice ?

What age is cosleeping safe
So I know people are gonna come at me and say that it’s safe if you follow the “safe sleep 7”…but y’all know what I mean. I mean…when can my kiddo just jump into bed and it not matter about all the pillows & blankets or the risk of suffocating and asphyxiating. We don’t cosleep but I was just curious.

If you contact napped for longer than newborn stage…
How long did you go? And how did you decide to stop? My 6 month old exclusively contact naps and honestly I don’t really mind it because she sleeps reasonably well in her crib at night and is ok at independent play, so I feel like I can function. But I’m just curious how much longer we’ll end up doing this and what others have done. I want to transition her to crib naps when she is ready and I don’t want to force it so I’m just not sure how I’ll know when that is.

Do most Non-High-Risk pregnancies reach the 40 week mark?
Most of the things I see are about moms getting to, and often going longer than, 40 weeks. Just curious how long most people in this subreddit went in their pregnancies?

For those who have done a “yes day” - what was your $ budget?
My girl is turning 7 in a few weeks & I want to give her a “yes day” as my gift in addition to her skating rink party. The last few months have been extremely hard on me personally & it’s taken a toll on trying to be a good mom. My daughter now approaches me with questions starting with “I know you’re gonna say no but…” & it wrecks me. I feel so fucking terrible. So here comes YES DAY! But my question is, does putting a monetary cap (maybe $200ish) on activities defeat the purpose? This girl has champagne taste with bubble gum money lol but she deserves it. Opinions please :)

Almost 3yo had an accident during swimming lessons
This literally just happened 30 mins ago. My daughter started swimming lessons a couple weeks ago. She's not completely potty trained, but we're almost there, so she wears 2 swim diapers in the community pool: one disposable diaper and a reusable one that goes on top. That didn't seem to matter though because, today, she had an accident and it leaked out the top right into the pool. As soon as I saw it, I immediately took her out and let her swimming instructor know. The instructor blew the whistle followed by a hand signal to the other instructors who then evacuated the pool. I am mortified. I don't know if we can go back.

I screamed at my toddler today and I feel like a puddle on the ground
My son doesn’t speak that well. He’s 3. He fell asleep in the car and then woke up & wouldn’t stop crying. He was crying for an hour straight. High pitch, squealing, shaking, kicking, throwing his arms around. He currently is sick & I know he doesn’t feel well. I was so gentle and patient until.. I wasn’t. I raised my voice so loud & said the worst thing I possibly could have said “stop fucking crying”. I cannot believe it. I’m a single mom. I’m trying the best I can but what if this is my best? I feel like a failure. A loser. A terrible person that would scream at a 3 year old boy. Has anyone has this experience? How can I prevent myself from doing this in the future?

I need every tip you can give to produce more breastmilk
Hi everyone. My baby is in NICU (born at 31+3, now 34 weeks). He currently drinks a combination of my milk and formula, because I can only ever pump like 20ml a day and he needs 37ml per feed 🫠 every time I almost catch up with the amount he needs, he grows up and needs more lol which obviously makes me happy as it means he is developing but also a little frustrated and concerned about what will happen when they let me breastfeed. He is supposed to get out of the NICU next week and I'm by no means prepared in the milking department haha can yall help with some tips? I know I have to drink at least 3l of water a day, and also massage and pump every 3 hours. Is there anything else I can do?

Is this typical sleep for a 6mo?
My 6mo has two meals a day and nurses about every 2-3 hours during the day, but still wakes up 4-5 times a night (typically every 2 hours or so) and wants to nurse. At her 6mo appointment the Dr informed us that this is not typical for a 6mo, and we should try to increase her food intake during the day to try and get her to sleep longer at night. She told us that baby should only be having roughly one night waking. We tried to follow her advice, but my baby just doesn’t want to eat much more during the day and even on days where she eats a LOT she’s still waking often during the night. I’ve asked all my family and friends if they have any advice or knowledge to share, and unfortunately everyone I’ve talked to can’t relate because their babies simply started sleeping through the night at around this time,if not earlier. So, what I’m wondering is: is this “normal” for a 6mo? Or does anyone have any tips or advice about sleep at this stage?
