Jäger Franz Stehle found a fox frozen in a lake by his guesthouse in Germany’s Black Forest. He said he cut the block of ice out of the lake with a chain saw. When the ice began to thaw, the fox was given to an animal body removal orangisation. 🦊🤯😔 Photos by © Jäger Franz Stehle #WildlifePlanet

video by bertiegregory An Eden’s whale trap feeding in the Gulf of Thailand. This extraordinary behaviour (where the whale treads water!) is thought to have developed because pollution has made the Gulf of Thailand a hypoxic environment. Sewage outflows from the land have caused all the oxygen in the water to be used up, except at the surface. This means the whale’s fish prey can only live in this surface layer. By treading water and keeping the corners of their mouth below the surface, a flow is created pulling the fish into the whale's mouth. In the panic, some of the fish also seem to jump out the water and into the whale’s mouth! To see these whales in action. #🐋 #whale #wild #natures #wildlife #thailand #underwater

Japanese photographers share photos of chonky Siberian Flying Squirrels 🐿 Siberian flying squirrel (Pteromys volans), known locally as Ezo momonga, they're about the same size as the Japanese dwarf flying squirrel. While in Japan the Siberian flying squirrel is limited to Hokkaido, the species as a whole has a range that runs from the Baltic Sea to Siberia.
