Piney & Summer didn’t have special training as therapy dogs, but their presence is making life better for a #Veteran and his family. It’s difficult to say who needed who more, but we agree with Scott, it was fate that brought them together. https://t.co/ogjvdVF3gD #VeteransDay

That is when Steve found @PetsforPatriots, who help United States veterans adopt a new pet while giving the most overlooked shelter dogs & cats loving homes. After a little while of looking, they helped connect Steve to a dog named Private who was born deaf & nearly blind. https://t.co/gTEhC5HjW1

After 13 years in the National Guard & 23 years of active duty, Steve retired. Like many veterans, Steve found the transition from military to civilian life to be a challenging time. He missed the camaraderie he shared with fellow soldiers & knew it was time to #adopt a dog. https://t.co/gUO4LfPVCl

Steve knew that Private was meant to be a part of his family. Steve himself had hearing & vision limitations & could relate. Now home, he reports that Private is such a comfort to him & that he has provided the companionship he was missing.” https://t.co/0wJqAFFy1E #VeteransDay https://t.co/33NTbQyaPy

Wrangler's mom says, "Adopting a senior dog means time together is shorter, but I wouldn't change it for the world. I miss Wrangler every day. He taught me so much in the (almost) four years we shared together. I'm truly a better person because of him." β™₯️
