The turkey-sized Great Curassow is prized by local people for its meat. Overhunting and habitat loss have made this species shy. Great Curassows find shelter at several of the bird reserves supported by ABC, including the Río Canandé Reserve in Ecuador. https://t.co/wM1jhe7JIe https://t.co/qZvW7nF5C0

As rulers of the upper realm, Thunderbirds are powerful, raptor-like native spirits central to tribal and familial stories across North America. #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth https://t.co/LSNFsAcrrX

The @forestservice removed protections from the Tongass—our largest national forest—in 2020, putting bird and wildlife habitat at risk. Urge Congress to #ProtectTheTongass by passing the Roadless Area Conservation Act. Take action today: https://t.co/Qy6R2ETboL https://t.co/YY8piZZp6k

👏 Thanks to the work of BirdLife’s Albatross task force, seabird bycatch has been reduced by 80% in target fisheries off South America and southern Africa. 🚨 Even so, #albatross are still being killed. 🎣 Will you help get albatross off the hook? ➡️ https://t.co/6K6cLYxWVx https://t.co/HrZlogxz53

Southern Screamers may look ungainly, with a big body, disproportionately small head, and thick legs. But this marsh bird is actually a strong swimmer and flier. This species faces threats, but hunting isn't one of them. Why don’t people hunt this bird? https://t.co/vo7esNcdiB https://t.co/M5rlpJvjhn

“What a great way to spend a workday learning new things, sharing stories & experiences with great people & being surrounded by some of the most beautiful views.” Read what Corina Solis learned at our Seabird Institute's Hog Island service week. @AudubonTX https://t.co/diSR3xFzRw

The Great Egret is amazing to watch when hunting for fish. Often standing still for ages and suddenly plunging headfirst into the water to grab a poor unsuspecting fish. The Fujifilm X-H2S is perfect for backlit images, which I love doing on a regular basis. The exposure compensation can be dialed down 5 stops which is ideal for moody images. This image I went +2 exposure compensation. You also have the choice to use Auto ISO which I set to limit the Auto ISO to 12800. Camera: Fujifilm X-H2S, Lens: XF 150-600 #fujifilmx_au #fujifilm_xseries #mirrorless #mirorrlessphotography #fujifilmaustralia #backlightphotography #birdphotography #birdsofinstagram #bird_brilliance #nature #greategret #fujifilmxh2s #egretsofinstagram #fujifilmphotographer

Building collisions kill millions of birds—like this Blackpoll Warbler—each year. Many of these deaths can be prevented. Urge your members of Congress to support the Bird-Safe Buildings Act—a bipartisan, common-sense solution to prevent bird collisions. https://t.co/pzye1IJsML https://t.co/Tnki6w8BXz

Did you know that you can figure out a Wild Turkey’s sex from its poop? A male’s will be shaped like the letter J, while a female’s is more spiral-shaped. https://t.co/yFmnHcVvNX https://t.co/aSRkk7cWzq

Take a gander at this Wild Turkey mural by N. Soala. The painter and mixed media artist was inspired by “a story by Roald Dahl called The Magic Finger, which stresses our effect on the planet and...[the] need to be more empathetic.” #AudubonMuralProject https://t.co/DL8X4K30RK
