If you had invested in railroads in 1830's Britain you would have lost money
If you had invested in railroads in 1830's Britain you would have lost money. If you would have invested in the East India Company you would have lost money. If you had invested in tech in 1999 it would have at best taken over a decade for you to make money, if ever. Just because something is the future doesn't mean it's a good investment. Just keep this in mind if you plan on investing in EV's.

Bitcoin rally without hype is making me nervous
Back then it was clearly a bubble. Even your taxi driver knew all about crypto. Now I feel barely anyone talks about bitcoin let alone is aware of this insane rally. Is my impression right? That makes me believe that it must be institutions that are pumping the price this time unlike retail investors last time. Why would they do that? Are they worried / know something about traditional currencies going down the drain? Add to that the insane valuations of some companies on the stock market (TSLA, DASH, SNOW... I'm looking at you) it makes me really nervous something is about to go down. Anyone else feels uneasy with bitcoin around $40k?

The total value of all cryptocurrencies passed $1 trillion Wednesday for the first time ever, per CoinGecko‘s index of 6,124 assets.
A big part of this is Bitcoin rallying, but also a lot of other cryptocurrencies are up 50-150% this week. Ethereum, the second largest, is up 61%. Stellar notably has jumped up 164%. The rally appears to have been prompted by regulatory guidance allowing banks to transact in stablecoins, as the biggest winners have been blockchains that participate in that space. https://www.coindesk.com/cryptocurrency-market-value-record-1-trillion http://coingecko.com/

Police officers are seen outside the Capitol Building in Washington, January 6, 2021. Chaos unfolded after Trump spent weeks whipping up his supporters with false allegations of fraud in the presidential election, culminating in a call to march to the building that represents democracy. Protesters fought through police barricades, stormed the building and entered lawmakers’ chambers. 📸 LeahMillis #dc #reuters #reutersphotos #washington #capitol #trump

Guns drawn and doors barricaded: Here's what it was like to be in the House chamber when a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol. Thousands of Trump supporters pushed into the East Front of the Capitol grounds, past barricades, some waving Trump flags, some American flags. The situation quickly turned grave, with security officials inside the House of Representatives chamber warning that “lots of people” had broken past a perimeter that had been set up. Glass panes were shattered in the door and Capitol police officers drew their firearms pointing them at the door. Click the link in our bio to read more.

Azlo closing down - anyone else get the email?
No date yet, but expected due to Simple and Azlo being part of PNC's acquisition of BBVA, who backed both. I had long moved away from Azlo (for business) and Simple (for personal) due to multiple frustrations; accounts open but with no money. But it got me thinking. I'm in Nevada, many banks don't operate here, BBVA being one and I doubt PNC does either. With Simple, customers were told their accounts would just go to BBVA, but BBVA won't do accounts in states it doesn't have a presence in. Azlo was treated as the "bank" which got around this. PNC doesn't seem interested in online banking without branches, and instead prefers to have people infect others by walking into a Branch for basic non-cash transactions. My question: did anyone else who uses Azlo get the email, and if so, what state are you in?
