How long would you advertise a bar before opening?

Howdy I am opening a small bar like business in a small college town a main street. There is a brand new golf simulator place right next door to my spot. We are the only business in town that is a lounge-bar like atmosphere. ( No bars in town except apple bee's) My plan is to use online presence/ads, promoting with other local people, the city, and working with the local news to get the word out. I would then open around 3 weeks after the start of the campaign effort. $400 budget each month EDIT: My biz partners think that we should advertise for months before opening so I am looking for more second perspectives. I would love advice and experience!

I'm thinking of starting an llc but I have multiple small businesses. Any advice?

So I have 4 separate businesses, technically. I have a media business I began in 2016 where I do video editing, production, script writing, etc. Working with both music artists and Youtubers. I have a t shirt shop online, which I created during the pandemic. Around this same time, I began buying and reselling items on Ebay, Mercari, and Poshmark. I also make youtube videos. Usually, I file as an independent contractor, but this year I made around $140,000 combined before tax. Would it be better to just put all 4 of these businesses under 1 llc for tax purposes? Does that make sense, and is there a way to do that while keeping them as their own separate businesses still?

First year of business tax question

I started my private practice for mental health therapy (sole proprietorship) in February 2022. I have yet to pay any taxes on my income this year and I am wondering if I need to in my first year of business? If so, should I pay 20% of my income this year and pay directly to the IRS website? I know there is a penalty if I don’t by January 17th. Any advice is much appreciated.

How do large businesses resist unionization for so long? What are your options as an owner if employees are unionizing?

One of our partners is terrified of hiring employees who've previously been apart of a union. I've seen online it only takes 30% of the employees to sign a card before receiving legal protections and a vote to start a union. If a company only has 20 employees, then you'd only need six guys to get the ball rolling and become a massive headache? What are things to do to protect the business from such an event without doing anything illegal? We pay very well to most positions, but no benefits (cost is ridiculous compared to giving employee more money to purchase themselves through ACA). How are there such small business with unions but large ones are able to avoid it for so long?

Need a print and ship shop

Hi! I'm wondering if there's a small business that I can work with anywhere in the USA that will help me make and ship merchandise. I'm an influencer that wants to sell merchandise - t-shirts, hoodies, bags, and mugs.. and other products that are more specific to my brand, and I would just WAY rather work with a small business than something like Gelato or Printify. Is there any small business who might do something like that with orders on demand? I'm just starting out with the merch. Thanks! Marie

Roast my business

Hello everyone, I am currently working on a project called Suirly, an online marketplace for local businesses in County Waterford, Ireland. The goal of Suirly is to make it easy for customers to shop for local products by providing a platform where businesses can list their products and customers can easily find and purchase them. I am interested in getting feedback on the viability of this project. Have any of you had experience with similar projects? Are there any potential roadblocks or challenges that you see with this type of business model? Your input and insight would be greatly appreciated. You can check out my website [here](https://suirly.com) Thank you!

Cheaper options for international shipping

Hi everyone, I’ve had a couple of potential customers that were interested in buying candles from me. But because international shipping is so expensive this turns people off. Does anybody know how to offer the cheapest international shipping

is this a good idea

I've had this idea for a while but I'm still not sure about it being profitable. Is buying clothes in bulk and putting my own designs on them ( digital embroidery) a good idea at all? I'm talking about an online shop, I already have the machine so that's out of the way. Has anyone tried this? I would definitely have to start small at first but I don't want to invest in something that won't sell but I guess that's up to me, however Im more concerned about the income, times are hard, everything costs a lot (electricity, taxes etc). How do I start calculating the profits?

Athletic/running shoe business owners

Any athletic/running shoe retailers on here? I have some questions: - how do you deal with returns? Do you absorb the cost? - how have you transitioned/optimised e-commerce during/after the pandemic - do you offer a consultation for new shoe buyers?

Name Suggestions? | Weight Loss / Laser Epilation

Hey everyone, so I need your creative help today. I am planning on starting a beauty center / weight loss center combination where I’ll basically offer weight loss by machines, muscle building, facial lifts, epilation by laser and everything else in this field. The problem is, what would be a good name for this business? Also, what about the colors of the brand? Any suggestions? I’d appreciate anyones reply, seriously.

Just need a business phone # for credit applications?

I'm a one-man small business that doesn't necessarily need an official business number. Though I understand the value in having one for business credit applications and getting set up with Google My Business, 411 listings, Yelp, etc. So I just signed up for a low cost toll-free plan this morning. My question is: Should I expect calls from banks or credit lenders to verify my number if I put it on an application? Or will they just cross check it with my business's listings on Yellow Pages, Google, Yelp, etc?
