What do I need to start consulting?

Earlier this week I was approached by someone I met through a colleague to perhaps do some consulting work. I currently run a research lab and teach at a university so I am familiar with consulting and looking over reports and data samples, but never outside of the university umbrella. I am excited about this opportunity because I believe it could turn into something more lucrative then what I do now, but I don't know where to start.

Hello! I am a 22yo Female and my boyfriend is 21, we’ve been together almost 2 years and I have a 4yo. We are young but we have been given an offer to buy a flea market up the road from the house we bought last year. He offered us a set amount of money and we get everything, he just walks away. My boyfriend set up a meeting this Saturday(2/19) to go over the books, insurance, and just see what kind of money it’s bringing in before we move forward with the deal. We have gone over EVERY what if scenario we can think of. Schedule for the store, my daughter, our days off, and overall how it will affect our life. We’ve even talked about what we will change and what we will keep the same. At this point it’s all down to how to books look but it’s eating me alive. The nerves and the what ifs just won’t go away. We’re excited but very nervous. Any advice is greatly appreciated
