It’s probable that female leaders are far more competent than they think they are — while male leaders are less competent than they assume they are. #IWD2021 https://t.co/tlc9rmJFnD

Moderna Continues to Slide Despite News

Competitive advantage stripped from Moderna and Novavax when Johnson and Johnson got the results from their single shot vaccine. The 52 week high of $189 was excitement about a potential end to o the pandemic and absent the J&J vaccine. But MRNA still has better efficacy, better future tech, and just announced a partnership to accelerate the production of their vaccine. Despite this, stock continues the slide, down another 3.42% today, as of this post. That extends 7 day and 30 day decline (-25% 1M). So what gives?

Charging Sales Tax on Shopify

Hi everyone, I am a new small business owner who is launching my online accessories business this week. I am still trying to understand sales tax. My business is in WA state and I use Shopify. Do I only need to charge sales tax for customers who are only in WA or would I need to charge sales tax for every customer? Right now I have Shopify collecting tax in WA and have it charging tax on shipping rates. Am I doing this thing wrong?

Question about what paperwork I need to get from contractors, and what to do with it.

These are probably very basic Business 101 questions, but I couldn't find the answers with a quick google search so I thought I'd see if someone can give me a quick rundown here. I'm an indie filmmaker and I started a single entity LLC in Pennsylvania a while ago because I needed it to get E&O insurance for a feature film in order to get distribution. Now that that is all behind me, I'm looking to bring on a freelancer to do some prep work for my next project, but I want to make sure I have them fill out the appropriate paperwork, and then once that is done, what do I do with it? For example, if I'm hiring a freelance graphic designer to make a pitch deck and we agree to a flat fee of $1,000, do I need them to send me an I-9, or a W-4, or what? And do I submit that to the IRS when doing my taxes at the end of the year or is there a different process? Sorry for the dumb questions, I'm kicking myself for being a filmmaker rather than a business major...

Simple expense tracking app?

I am looking for a very simple expense tracking app for my pet services business. All of my billing and income is tracked already through the booking app I use(ROVER). But, I would like to find a (free) app that I can just track little things like promotional products, dog treats, kennels, anything the dogs damage in my home that I need to replace, ect, that I can deduct from my “profits” come tax time. Maybe mileage tracking, too

How to pitch to retailers?

So... Myself and one of my roommates have a small watch business. We have an online store and only do a couple sales a week. We need more capital to do more substantial advertising, and we think the best way to do that would be to sell a large amount of inventory wholesale to a local business. I've reached out to a bunch of businesses over email but am struggling to get responses. How should I go about reaching out to businesses?

All the info I can find is about protecting a business from fraudulent referrals.

While the tech industry tends to take pride in changing the world of work, and often, with a bit of hubris the world per se, the technology sector is actually further away from achieving gender equality than the U.S. economy as a whole. While the percentage of women in the United States labor force has gradually climbed to 46.8 percent over the past decades, it is still significantly lower in the tech sector. As our chart, based on self-reported company figures, indicates, female employees make up between 28 percent (Microsoft) and 42 percent (Amazon) of the total workforce at America's largest tech companies, the so-called GAFAM group. Looking at actual tech jobs, that percentage drops much lower, as women take up fewer than 1 in 4 technical roles at each of the companies reporting such a figure (Amazon does not). #WomensDay #InternationalWomensDay #ChooseToChallenge #Equality

Help creating custom products?

I am a professional designer, and have a business idea to create a brand and sell products that showcase specific designs I've created. I plan on creating my own fabric prints with these designs and using that to create bags, pouches, bandanas, etc. However, I am not much of a sewer. Is there a company that is able to create products with custom fabrics/designs? I see a lot online that can screenprint on bags, but was hoping to use a full custom fabric print throughout. Any suggestions would be great! Thank you in advance!
