Has Y Combinator lost its way as a leading incubator when the latest YC company is a Mac OS only google calendar menu bar widget that costs $120/yr?

Curious what everyone else thinks about SuperPowered [https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=26425318](https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=26425318) To me, it damages the YC brand a lot. Instead of companies that are truly supposed to be the next unicorn, trying something new to create a whole new marketplace, or at min. have found a novel new way of approaching something, they are supporting companies that are creating something that could be done at a one-day hackathon, and that has been done to death with tons of free options even. It does seem like if they didn't have the YC brand name supporting them it would get lost in the sea of other free or more featured options? I mean freaking fantastical is only 40 a year offers an actual mac and iPhone app (plus the widget in the menu bar!) instead of just a menu bar widget, and not to mention the free calendar app built in!

When employees trust their organizations, they’re more productive. When customers trust businesses, they show them loyalty. A neuroscientist breaks down why people trust — and when they don’t. https://t.co/lXQ5Tyhzkm

What are some of the best lessons you have learned in your career so far and why?

What are some of the best lessons you have learned in your career so far and why? This can be solely in BI but not necessarily, it could be your whole career if you operated in other fields too that is applicable anywhere.

Costco and other retailers are running out of some imported products like Cheese. The reason why is a complicated mix of import backlogs, higher demand, and other supply chain disruptions.

contacting retail owners for wholesale

I have been trying to sell me soaps at a wholesale price because the aov has generally been much larger. I have been trying to contact a few small gift shops and such to ask see if they would be interested in selling me soaps, but none have gotten back to me. Is there a best way to contact someone in regards to offering wholesale?

Commercial Auto Insurance for a business I just started

So my husband and I just started a Low Voltage business in Florida and are in the process of filling out a subcontractor application to do work for a larger company. One of the things the company requires is commercial auto insurance (for one pickup truck), so we have gotten quotes from Geico and Progressive and they're so expensive!! Progressive was about $9,000/year and $700/month, and Geico $10,000/year $600/month.... these prices seem incredibly high and since we are just starting we don't have the money to pay that much per month. Does anybody have any recommendations of cheaper insurance companies??

Signing lease as business name and personal name before business is founded?

Hello back again. My dad is trying to start his company and is rather eager to get the lease started before the company is officially started. The leasing agent said he can lease it under the business name and his personal name. Is that okay? We are forming the business officially this upcoming week. He wants to have the planned company name on the lease even before it's officially started, the name is not taken anywhere by the way. This is what it appears as: "company name", LLC, a California limited liability company, and "his name", a married man

Does a platform exist for charging for texting?

I tried to search here but found nothing for 'ways to charge clients for texting' and the like. I'd like to have a way to get paid for answering questions quickly in my field. The only services I found that have pay-per-text-message services are in the adult industries and that's not my field. Any suggestions?
