Competitors that are friends. How do you handle / boundaries do you take?
I recently had a good friend in my industry let me know he’s taken a position with one of my competitors. Not salty about it and understand it’s business and people need to make a living. However, I’m now very likely going to see this friend at industry event and I’m struggling with what boundaries to put up now. My mentor advised “ he’s a competitor now and is waking up every morning to kick your ass. Keep any interaction short and pleasant but as far as hanging out, don’t. If you don’t have business there, you don’t have business being there.” Seems harsh so I’m wondering if anyone has advice or currently is friends with a competitor abd how they manage that relationship without it turning south. Thanks!

Reaching small business owners without “knocking on doors”!
Hey guys! Having had owned two small businesses, now I’m on the other side having had developed a product designed specifically for business owners with a brick and mortar, not e-commerce. I need help on reaching said owners/management without knocking on doors or wasting a ton money on ads. Email would be ideal to be able to show the product. Any advice would be appreciated!!
