At schools with struggling math and reading performance, some leaders worry that test scores will drop if they make time for art. That didn't happen. @jillbarshay @hechingerreport https://t.co/MrK1ucPl6P

very aggravating
My daughter is 8 months now and is babysat by her grandma one weekend a month because she lives so close and it gives us a day or two to take a breather. Well recently my MIL has been asking to pierce her ears even though before she was born I made it clear I wouldn't until LO was able to ask for them herself. Nothing against piercings, I just don't want to do it for my child right now. Well lately she's been saying she's going to do it anyway even if I say no. I'm like really?? Why do you care so much if she has ear piercings or not?! Now it makes me feel like I cant leave LO alone with her because she will cross a boundary. I've told her she will stop getting her weekends alone if she does it & her response was "idc ive made up my mind she needs earrings!!" like ugh wtf! rant over its just frustrating that people don't listen and wont take no for an answer.

My son got into my Azo. Everything is fine. I called poison control.
Then he busted his lip. Can anyone comfort me and tell me your stories of having to call poison control? I feel like a horrible mother.

A word of warning for current parents of autistic toddlers...
If you, for whatever reason, decide to buy your toddler a special dinosaur-themed, personalised table set, buy it in an adult size. I am begging you to buy it in a larger size. This is brought to you by me watching my fourteen year old eat his toast on a toddler sized plate. He had three helpings of cereal in order to consume a normal amount. His hands are bigger than the handles of his cutlery. He drinks his tea in one gulp out of his cup. Ah. Autism.

Just a vent while I cry it out silently
Husband called me a pathetic nobody, because I make our baby my only priority and have left my hobbies to spend time with her every day. She’s 9 months old and will be the only baby we will ever have. I want to spend as much time as I can with her since she’s only this age once. My hobbies can wait.

Perhaps kids today play on the computer as much as they do partly because that is one place where they can play freely, without adult intervention and direction. -Peter Gray #parenting

PIL got our baby sick
Title says it all. They came to visit last weekend and showed up sick. Coughed all over the house and FIL rocked a hankie. Nobody washed hands, even when I asked. They left Sunday, and hubby started to feel sick Monday. Our LO (3 months) started getting very clingy and fussy Tuesday and was running a fever by Thursday. He tested positive for COVID on Friday. PIL are saying it couldn't have been them, but we live a pretty isolated life. I stay home and hubby works alone in an office. We hadn't had any other visitors. I'm so angry and I'm trying my best not to engage because I'll say something I don't mean and burn a bridge with my son's grandparents

Hot tea and breastfeeding?
Unfortunately I’m sick and have a sore throat. I’m looking for a hot tea that is safe to drink while nursing my baby. Does anyone have any recommendations? Online I’ve read chamomile or ginger tea is safe and won’t decrease supply. Does anyone have experience with chamomile or ginger tea while breastfeeding? Or any other advice/suggestions?

Easier way to put child to sleep survey
Hi everyone!! I’m currently a highschool student in the last year of my Engineering program. A group of two other girls and I are planning to create a crib attachment that allows to slowly raise and lower the child so you don’t have to bend over as far and wake them up. Currently we have a survey that we need 200-300 people to take. If you have the time please consider helping us out!! Every response will be super helpful! Thank you so much! Good Vibes Please
Bromos, please send me good vibes, good juju, thoughts and prayers, whatever it may be. I need to pass a drug test so I can get a new job since I am so severely unqualified for my current position. I found the perfect job for me, I just need to pass a drug test this afternoon. It's at a grocery store so I'm thinking it's going to just be a mouth swab test, hopefully. I am a daily smoker and have been for years and years and years. I would have quit long ago while searching but I really didn't think a grocery store would still be drug testing in California now. I go at 1:30 this afternoon and haven't partaken in smoking since I heard about the drug test, about 5pm yesterday. Please dear God I need this job!!!
