How to tell my coworkers I'm buying the business

I manage a small company, about 10 employees. I'm in my mid-30s, most of the people that work there are younger and pretty good. There are a couple of older guys who are mostly ok, outside of always whining about "kids these days". I'm going to be buying out the owner soon, just in the last stages of financing it now. Initially I wanted to keep the owner on as an employee and not tell anyone I'd bought it, but the more I think about it the more I realize that's a bad move. I expect when word gets out there's going to be a lot of jealousy, especially from the older guys. I worry they're going to get it in their heads that I'm now rich, and their already entitled attitudes are going to get even worse. I'm stumped how to bring it up to them without them feeling blindsided, and how to keep them on my side now that I'm the one signing their paycheck. Is it better to tell them now, before everything is done?

Who has a business that will do well with increased inflation on the way?

What type or businesses do you think will do well as interest rates and prices for goods go up? I am thinking real estate. What else?

Businesses to start with ~100k?

I'm looking to start a business for around a \~100k. I don't have much experience. What are some safe options for a business to support myself? I live on the east coast of the US in a fairly busy area.

Do I need to buy licensing to sell my own designs based on TV shows and movies?

I’m thinking of starting an online business where I sell greeting cards and/or T shirts with my own designs printed on them. I’d like to do some designs based on popular TV shows and movies, but do I have to buy licensing for that? I wouldn’t be using images straight from the shows/movies, I would be drawing them myself. I tried to look it up myself but am not sure how to word it. Also, I’m in the US if that helps. Thanks for any and all help!

Ideas for a vacant massage space?

Hello everyone, I had a massage/spa tenant just move out. I want to keep the space and open something myself with minimal upfront costs to “flip” it, but I’m not coming up with any decent ideas. I don’t want another massage business, or anything that requires bringing on multiple 1099’s. The space is about 4500 sq ft, divided into 6 private rooms, a lobby, a “back office”, and a very large bathroom. What could I utilize this space for...? Thanks in advance for your help!!

● Contrary to popular belief, more people headed to the New York metro region than moved out during the Covid-19 era, according to an analysis of cell-phone data.⠀ ⠀ ● A study of migration in the 30 largest U.S. metro areas during the pandemic showed the most popular cities for relocations from March to September were Tampa, Florida; Phoenix -- and the New York City area, according to data from Orbital Insight, a California-based company that tracks the movement of goods and people. Miami and Orlando rounded out the top five.⠀ ⠀ ● “New York remains desirable for all the same reasons it ever was -- the nexus of culture and commerce with a higher density of jobs-per-block than most other places in the world,” said Matt Larriva, vice president of research and data analytics at FCP, a real estate firm that studies Orbital Insight data to gain a deeper understanding of domestic migration.⠀ ⠀ ● Read the full story by clicking the link in our bio.
