Coco melon sucks. There, I said it.
I can't stand coco melon songs. I prefer super simple songs and the kiboomers. Anyone else have any recommendations for toddler music on youtube? And is there a way to block coco melon from playing? Thanks!

Do you ever read those heartwarming tales about selfless kids who do amazing things for other people and think to yourself "What the hell? My kids would never do that, mine must be assholes?" Because same.

Posting pictures of my kid on social media
Any and all advice is appreciated. We are having a baby soon and my husbands family is becoming unbearable with the posts on Facebook, Instagram, and even Twitter about it. I have asked them nicely not to constantly share personal and private details of my future kid for the world to see. I’m so sick of hearing “well I want all my friends to know that the baby is now the size of an Apple!!” My husband and I already agreed that we will post a picture (not even of the kid, maybe just a onesie or something) to let people know that he or she is healthy and whatever but after that, nothing. We don’t want our kids on social media and I think it is a completely reasonable request. When we mentioned this casually at the last family zoom call, we offended multiple members on his side of the family. Can someone please tell me how I’m supposed to get through to these people that this is not their child and therefore they need to respect our wishes??

At what age should a toddler be in daycare or preschool by for their development?
Hello, We are first time parents and looking for some advice here. We are wondering is there a time by which you *should* put your kids in daycare or preschool for their development? Our son is 1.5 years old and has been staying home with either us or our nanny due to covid. We initially planned to send him to daycare around 1 year old, but now we are hesitant to do so until kids can get vaccinated. It looks like that would be at the earliest around when he would be 2.5 years. Preschools in my area start at 18 month or 2 years mostly. I’m wondering is that 2.5 years old too *late* to start any kind of school in a group setting (daycare or preschool)? At what age *should* kids start some kind of group child care? And what do kids do before that? Just hang out with a parent/caregiver at home? Is it OK if a child stayed home with mom until 3 years old then start any kind of school or is that going to have a negative impact on their development? Thank you!

Best formula?
What’s the cleanest organic formula for my LO? I need to supplement with formula for a couple days that I’ll be leaving him with grandparents. He’s been exclusively BF until now. Besides solids. He’s 8 months old. Edit: unfortunately pumping isn’t really an option as I only really have enough supply for the day. 😕

How can I keep my 3 year old safe at night?
We have a very curious very crafty 3 year old boy, at night if he wakes up he’ll sneak out of bed making sure to not make any noise and get into pretty much everything. We’ve tried every kind of child lock there is and we have baby gates but he’s figured a way past all of it. This morning we found him playing with knives in the kitchen (he managed to get past the baby gate and child locks on the drawers) we are at our wits end and are seriously considering getting simple lock for his room to keep him safe. I know it’s very controversial but I just don’t know what else to do, we have baby monitors set up but he knows how to get past pretty much everything without waking us. Any advice?

How do your teen girls carry things without using a purse or handbag?
My oldest (17) does not have a purse or handbag or anything of that nature because she doesn't like them. Instead she uses her pockets when she has that option. Sometimes that means pants pockets, sometimes coat pockets. She is carrying around her license, debit card, school ID, phone, keys, and all those wonderful things. That doesn't include when she needs to carry around her phone charger or medicine. I don't want her to misplace important things. She already had to replace her license once. She refuses any sort of handbag or anything like that. She uses a fanny pack sometimes but not always. Any other ideas out there?
