How to find costumers.
Of course I know this varies depending on the business you do, but what would be a general way of getting new costumers easily be and what was your experience with it? Is investing in advertisement on the internet smart or would you rather locally promote your business? Is it smart to build up good connections or ask a friend who has them for help?

Alternatives to ADP for payroll and 401k?
I feel like the benefits do not outweigh their price tag. I used to do payroll in house before I offered a 401K. I liked that paystubs and 401K access can be done on one platform for the employees. They charge around $70 to process 1099s and W-2s base fee plus $6.50 each person/entity. Their 401k fund choices are not optimal either. What else is out there?

Life time profit sharing.
Limiting the personal details, I've been ill for some time now and finally getting the proper treatment. During that time, I've always considered myself like a starving businessman/inventor. Always coming up with plans, never carrying them out. I'm ready to make that switch and get the ball rolling, already got 2 local people interested in helping. Plan is to start with one project that'll steamroll into the next.. and so on until I can't. Was thinking of a way to entice some small investors. To get going, I was looking to raise $10k to $15k.. and am trying to find locals to invest $1,000 each for a 1% cut of profit for the life of any future projects. Granted, this probably sounds shaky and untrustworthy.. but I plan on talking to people who know me and know that I got some good things in store. What would be the most legal way of doing this? A simple notarized contract?

How do you accept taking a profit margin cut while hiring new people in an uncertain economy?
I own an agency and for the longest time I've worked with contractors and freelancers as I wasn't able to get a good hire. However, contractors are costing me a lot (a good one just 2.5xd his price) so I have to finally hire a full time employee. The pay is gonna be almost same what I pay the contractors. It might be less considering the total work done and the availability of the full time person. Here's the problem: I'm REALLY worried I might not be able to pay the person. This makes no sense logically as I have enough work. I'm just anxious about a client or two leaving and everything falling apart. But even in worst case scenario, I wouldn't be in the negative. It might be breaking even and sacrificing on profit margin. I'm just not able to wrap my head around NOT making profit from business. Could anyone please share if you felt a similar way while making your first hire? How did you overcome that?
