What nightmares are made of: pinworms
My nine year old has fucking pinworms. Two nights ago she brought it to my attention when there were worms in her VAGINA. She didn’t tell me and noticed them 2 weeks ago. She also has a UTI from the infestation. We have treated for both and I have sanitized my house top to bottom. I know that I need to continue washing sheets, towels, and clothes in hot water daily…however the internet does not give any tips for nightly relief. It says the itch can last 5-7 days after treatment. We haven’t slept because of how much pain she’s in. What can I do tonight to get us some good sleep?? Everything I’ve read say pin worms are harmless… wrong. My mental health is harmed.

What do you do with clothes your young kids grow out of?
Spring purge has started. I have four trash bags filled with 3T to 4T. We also have a ton of newborn to 18 months that the youngest has grown out of. Our neighborhood does a large garage sale, but I'll admit that's way too much work and we really don't need the money that bad. I will say I have a thing for Ralph Lauren Polo Kids and Under Armour/NIKE Kids, so my wife does want to sell those on FB marketplace. I doubt she will because there is a lot (I can be a clothing snob). :) The other stuff is your typical Carters/Osh Kosh/Baby GAP, etc. I know Goodwill is an option, but are there other options that some of you have used? Any other places I should consider? Just looking for some options. It would be great to help some struggling parents.

It's so easy to get caught up in the college admissions craze. We're proud and excited about this next step for our kids. But here's why most teens don’t want us to post about college visits or admissions on social media. @DevorahHeitner #parentingtips https://t.co/T2jOu3L5JE

It is such an emotional topic, but it is so important to talk, listen, help our teens process, to reassure them, help them to take positive action steps, and support them. This is #parentingteenagers #Nashville #mentalhealth https://t.co/bi00WpzMA4

Perspective taking-the thinking or cognitive part of #empathy-helps us step outside our 🌎& understand other people’s feelings & thoughts. Stress: “You don’t have to agree-just find 1 thing you have in common.” It’s simple & helps raise kids to think WE, not ME. https://t.co/5s29q9XiLO

6yo said he'd sacrifice himself to save his friends if he was in a school shooting.
How do we respond to that? Yesterday there was a report of shots fired at a high school near my son's elementary school. Thankfully, it turned out to be a sick hoax and nobody was actually in danger, but we checked our son out before we knew it WAS a hoax. Anyway, we tried to explain in age-appropriate terms why we took him out early and he seemed to get it. Later that day he asked his mom, "Mom is sacrifice good? I think if there was a shooter I would sacrifice myself for my friends so they are safe." How...? On the one hand, that's a noble sentiment, but on the other... no. I hate that he's even thinking about things like that. How would you respond to your kid? I'm completely at a loss here.

Parenting is eay
IDK why people always complain about how hard parenting is. I just let my kid do whatever they want when they want. Give them what they want when they want it. Let them eat what they want when they want. And have zero expectations or standards for how they should behave or treat me. Easy peasy. /s

In my heart I know I want a second child. But I don’t know if I can handle it
I have 1 baby right now, 11 months old. She has got to be one of the most easy babies I could have been given. And even so, I get so tired and frustrated sometimes. We have such an ideal life and situation. And I am terrified of messing that up by being another baby in and them wreaking havoc. Sounds harsh but it’s a very real possibility. But at the same time, I don’t see us only have 1 child and being done. I’ve always imagined us a family of 4. Can anyone relate??
