Trying to start a small plant nursery but there are already huge number of them online in my country. How do I compete with them?

I live in Bangladesh and I was drawing up the business plan for the small nursery that I want to set up on my roof (1500 sq ft). I did some online searches for competitors and it seems there are literally tons of nurseries selling plants online. There are 100s of websites that have a huge assortment of plants, pots and what not and that too at a VERY LOW price. There is no way I can outcompete them in any way. I was thinking of starting with just 3-4 houseplants. One that can be hanged on the wall, another two that would be good for side tables and another one would be a large pot plant for staircases and room corners. But given my competition, it seems that I have no chance. However I don't want to go back to the drawing board again. Its common for businesses to face stiff competition when starting up. How did you guys deal with it? How can I compete with these other nurseries? PS: Does anyone know of a subreddit for small nursery owners?

Content Idea: One Week, One App

**What** - start a YouTube channel where I go from zero to MVP on an app concept using only no-code tools. **Why** - I’ve used a few no-code tools to build communities over 10k users strong, and with the recent improvements to several of the no-code software available, I figured it would be both an entertaining and informative series to watch someone with no technical experience *build an app that can be on the App Store(s) in one week or less. **How** - I’ll set up a YT channel (if you have an idea for a catchy name lmk), get a screen recording software, and start going to work. I have a few ideas for the first app, but I’m also open to ideas from the community on popular app mechanics I should implement into the app(s). I know this isn’t a new concept, and I’m sure others have done the “app in one week” content. But I have t seen anything like this covering no-code tools, which are a much more accessible route for most entrepreneurs.

Whats an easy (and free!) way to keep track of expenses for a business starting out?

It’s not a complicated business model but what is a recommended way to keep track of all expenses? Quickbooks? Excel? I would prefer one that has an app too. Unless someone can tell me why that isn’t necessary and there’s a better resource. I’m not sure what else to look for

Help please

I am in Canada, I have a business number registered. I use a website for people to make orders and I also let people come to my home to buy the products I sell and I use a square debit machine for that. The website is linked with square (if you use a visa on my site a payment will go to my square account and the transaction info) if they use cash or email transfer it just goes to my bank or my cash box. I find it super confusing having some website receipts which are normal sized paper and also having little cash receipts from my machine when I go to do taxes. How to I go about making this a easier process. Because right now I have to add product to both square and wix. Is there any other small business owners working from home that can help me out? I’ll even pay fo advice

Trademarking My Business' Title.

I'm Starting up a Graphic Design company and really have no idea where to start getting it official. I wanna make sure nobody can swoop in and steal my title and even designs, therefore giving them the ability to claim it as their own property Anyone have any pointers on whether or not I should register it as an LLC? Anything else I should do to solidify it?. Thank you!

Naming my business

Hi guys I’m really hoping for some advice... I have a small business selling cards, prints etc but I’m going to branch out into wedding stationery too. As I’m trying to grow my brand I need to settle on a name. I have the opportunity to call it my own first name (short and pretty unusual, the domain is also available) but obviously that doesn’t offer any insight into the nature of the business. The current name is [my first name][my middle name]designs, which I’m happy to keep but I’m concerned it’s too long! Would really appreciate some advice on the subject! Thanks so much x

Starting out

I need some advice/pros and cons about trying to start a retail business and if I should go with an LLC right from the get go or try to keep it as a sole proprietorship? Anyone got any personal experience with this kind of situation.

I'm trying to make something happen here but ..

I feel like it's a really slow roll. I have so many friends and family I was sure I'd be able to build something starting from there but so far I'm struggling. I'm a traditional artist focusing in colored pencil animals I run a patreon with a total of 4, count it, 4, patrons. And have had two orders on my website. Any advice to help? I'm trying to devote some time to figure out more marketing because obviously my enthusiastic facebook campaign isn't doing a whole bunch. I don't know if I can post my actual info here but yeah. I'm at a loss. Do I just keep rolling forward? I'm a sahm who's partner is unemployed thanks to the pandemic but for, reasons, we can't collect unemployment 😅

Dave Levy and Nikos Kanelopoulos are trying to beat the algorithm. The two DoorDash drivers are trying to persuade their peers to turn down the lowest-paying food deliveries. The idea is that the automated system for matching jobs with drivers will respond by raising pay rates. Their main tool is #DeclineNow, a 40,000-person online forum that provides a view into a type of labor activism tailored for the gig economy. “Every app-based on-demand company’s objective is to constantly shift profits from the driver back to the company,” Levy says. “Our objective is the reverse of that.” Can this kind of collective action make a difference? Read in full at the link in bio. (via businessweek)

Small Business Name

I am starting a commercial boiler and HVAC service company. I’m trying to figure out the name. I’m not interested in having my name in it such as Smith Mechanical. I would like the name to have some sort of meaning that could also be incorporated to the logo.. I.e. Lochinvar is a boiler manufacturer and has the knight riding a horse logo. Lochinvar is a brave knight who arrives unannounced at the bridal feast of Ellen, his beloved, who is about to be married to “a laggard in love and a dastard in war.” Lochinvar claims one dance with the bride and dances her out the door, swooping her up onto his horse, and they ride off together into the unknown. What other interesting scenes, people or accounts of history could be turned into a interesting business name that are more one of a kind than “Quality HVAC Company”

Looking for WA State Domestication

Hi, I'm looking to domesticate my existing out-of-state LLC in WA State. I've looked online at services like LegalZoom, etc. but they don't seem to offer this service. Does anyone know of any that offer this for a stated flat fee? Has anyone done this in the past here and can share the ballpark cost?

Catchiest business name?

Hi, I’m looking into starting a small business selling handmade, unique clay jewellery pieces but am struggling with a name. Which do you think is the catchiest/most appealing? (I’m targeting women around 17-45 & am based in small town UK so need something relatable & approachable) [View Poll](https://www.reddit.com/poll/mocrow)
