Coming foot shortages

I am wondering if anybody has any insights of the foot shortages/high inflation effect on the restaurant industry. I have friends who own restaurants and said all of their suppliers products have risen substantially over the last few years. I keep hearing about the coming foot shortages etc and I don't really understand what is meant by that. I have been thinking about getting into a pasta delivery business ( no eating in) with a partner with a lot of experience in the field. I have over 15 years experience in the restaurant industry, but just as an employee. It sounds like by the time we could get it off the ground food prices will have skyrocketed and their will be supply chain issues. Is this all overblown, or is this something I need to seriously worry about it?

I’m Ignoring clients. Need advice.

I’m finding myself ignoring clients who want same day. I’m a hairdresser. How can I overcome this? One of my long time friends did tell me that I am organized although I over commit at times. Should I even value the feedback or disregard it? Is there anyone brave enough to give me some honest yet sincere feedback on staying organized and replying to clients without ignoring them? Ps: There’s no wrong comment. Please just reply how you would handle if you’re in my shoes. If you’re embarrassed then message me privately thanks for sure. (This post will be deleted most likely by 3pm) Thanks 😉

● During the course of March 26, Musk chatted to Dorsey and Durban about his plans for the social media platform, including that he had taken a “significant stake” of more than 5% stake in the company, a US securities filing reveals. ● Durban soon informed Bret Taylor, the board chairman, Martha Lane Fox, one of Twitter’s directors, and Chief Executive Officer Parag Agrawal, of Musk’s interest in joining the board and set up a meeting between Musk and the Twitter executives. ● The latest details highlight how the troubled takeover has appeared to have been driven by the billionaire’s whims rather than deep financial analysis. ● Read the full story through the link in our bio. If you could replace resumes or cover letters what would you replace them with?

Would it be easier to hire without resumes?

What software do you recommend for invoicing, issuing purchase orders, and general book keeping?

I was looking into quickbooks but in order to be able to issue a purchase order you need to $80 month plan. I doubt I'll ever issue more than a dozen or so a month. What do you guys use?

I want to open up a bookstore cafe, but have no idea where to start.

I've been fiddling around with this idea for almost six months now, and this month I decided to try and actually make it happen. I've been obsessed with books since a young age, and I'm now currently trying to become a published author. I've always had the want to start a business, and five months ago I started thinking about opening up my very own bookstore cafe, a place where book lovers alike can come in, buy a book or two, and then relax by drinking their own nice cup of coffee. I know it sounds generic and overdone, but it's a new passion I really want to make happen. My only problem is that I have no idea where to start. Do you guys have any advice on starting a new business and the first steps I can take to get there? I've been doing some research on google as well, but I'm still at a loss.

no-nonsense web agency tech stack

Dear web agency founders, What have you chosen as your technology stack to provide no-nonsense services to your customers. I'm talking about an environment where you host a few hundred websites for your customers, where your agency did the initial work, and you keep the websites running on your services. A bonus if you have a platform with escape hatches for very custom integrations for very specific projects. Another bonus if you have a setup where clients can update content easily (CMS). I'm curious how you keep things uniform and manageable over the years. How are you doing it, or what would you change? References to great products are appreciated! Thank you, kind reddit-people!

Should I be charging sales tax?

I have llc doing maintenance/repairs on fitness equipment for which I'm the only employee. Doing this I buy a decent amount of parts (from general nuts and bolts sort of stuff, but also specific parts from the equipment companies). Until now I've just been charging enough to cover the part cost, shipping, and my time (some customers opt to order the parts themselves). But the volume is at the point where I'm trying to figure out if I need to be charging sales tax/tracking which portion of their payment for parts is going toward the sales tax part of the cost. Reselling obviously isn't the main thrust of my business plan, so I'm not especially in the know about this area, and I'm having trouble finding info with searches. Anyone have answers or directions to point me in for info?

Time Machine Time

If you could go back in time to when you were just starting your business and give your younger self a bit of advice what would that be?
