I need a bonus mom
We have no help and I just want my husband to leave me for a younger woman with more energy who will be a good stepmom to my kids. I’m so fucking exhausted and I need a break and another woman in my life who will help raise them would just be so nice. Plus if she wants to have sex with my husband that’d be real nice cause then maybe he’ll stop bugging me about it.

Dad’s response 😭
My daughter called herself dumb on the way to school this morning and my husband stopped the car and asked her to apologize to herself for being mean and then to him for hurting his daughter’s feelings. My heart. 😭

Any other parents frustrated by only pink / pony / princess / unicorn clothing for girls?
Parent of a 2 year old girl here. Ever since she was a baby, we've been buying her boys clothes. And the older she grows, the worse it seems to get. Why is all baby girl / toddler girl clothing filled with ponies, princesses, unicorns, and various "I'm so cute / pretty" slogans, while baby boy / toddler boy clothing is filled with animals, science, space, and learning? Not to mention how non-functional little girls clothing is (beach bikinis for a 1 year old?!) relative to little boys clothing (comfy shorts and rash guard) I find this incredibly frustrating. We are all so shaped by the people, images, and messages we see around us, and telling little girls that all they should care about is being / looking cute is not the message I want my daughter to absorb. While I recognize this is merely scratching the surface of much, much broader societal issues, it all starts during childhood, doesn't it? How do you parents feel / think about this subject?

daytime pajamas
Do other parents leave their babies in pajamas alp day, or am I alone? We leave our almost 10 month old twins in zip sleepers 95% of the time. Anytime I do manage a real "outfit", my husband complains about having to take the pants off & wrestle them back on during diaper changes. Are we the weird ones? Is everyone else getting their babes dressed every day?

I am so tired of being pooped on
Please help me. My baby is 11 weeks and 12 almost 13 lbs. We have him in size 1 Huggies diapers. Almost every single time he poops it gets everywhere. On his clothes, me , my husband, his chairs, his playmat, the couch, his bed, our bed. Literally everywhere! It feels pointless even putting him in a diaper. So please, if any of you have recommendations on how to keep the baby poops contained please let me know. I’m open to different brands to try, or ways to do up his diaper or anything really.

Blue’s Clues - Steve is the best!
I wasn’t a kid when the original Blue’s Clues was on, but I’ve watched all the seasons over the years with my kids, and I just have to say…. Steve is just The Best. I mean, no offence to Joe and Josh, but Steve was just so humble and likeable. Joe to me had way less personality, and Josh has *so* much personality, but Steve was like the perfect mix of both. I can see why everyone loved him so much. Anyway, just some random thoughts while watching with my toddler. If I had to pick the least annoying/most watchable kids shows I think Blue’s Clues would be at the top of the list. Are you team Steve, team Joe or team Josh??

Last night my wife told me she was gonna spice things up for us when we get into the bedroom.
She turned the Hatch light from blue to pink, and the sound from rain to waves…. 🤦♂️

No, I am not still pregnant ☹️
Checked in for my 6 week postpartum follow up appointment and heard the receptionist say to her co worker “why do I have her booked for a postpartum visit and IUD insertion when she’s obviously still pregnant?” Great. I am already more uncomfortable in my own skin than I’ve ever been before. Can’t decide if it’s easier to try to just let this kind of shit go or if I should send a complaint.

Bloody Weddings
We've got 4 weddings this year and 3 are child see I get it. I really do, we had a child free wedding but this was when nobody we knew had children, but its getting to be such a faff to arrange overnights so we can go away, plus getting someone to watch the epileptic dog Even my brother in law doesn't want him at his wedding, which my wife is taking quite hard and I'm sure she'll be bitter about for a while. Life is hard and I need a beer

Childfree friends don’t always understand how small acts of friendship take a lot of effort from parents .
Sometimes child free friends truly have no idea how much effort “menial “ friendship tasks takes when you’re a parent. And it’s frustrating. Texting back regularly is more difficult. Meeting up. Etc.

A reminder to check flairs!
I'm going to start removing comments that go against the flairs I made and I don't want anyone to be upset/offended if their contribution is taken down so I just wanted to put a quick reminder today, before I start cracking down. If you see the flair for 'evidence based' input, that means you HAVE to provide sources and CANNOT use anecdotes. Evidence based doesn't include personal experiences or hearsay (i.e., "My best friend studied medicine and he swears the Covid vaccine has caused heart failure in kids!!1!1!"). I'll leave this up for a couple days before I really start cracking down, this way nobody will be blindsided by their well thought out comment being removed.
