Here’s what I can do - Help me find my side hustle !

I studied Tax Law and International Taxation and work at a tax consultancy firm. The pay is good but I work fast, and despite volunteering for a lot a work I have around 10-15 hours of free time a week. My question is whether I could realistically dedicate that time to develop my own side business, and in what field. I know Business tax law, international taxation, corporate law, small-scale M&A, legal auditing, Private taxation (for individuals). I’m looking for a side biz I can do from my computer for a few hours a day and that doesn’t systematically require short deadlines (looking at you M&A…). I’d be very interested to hear some feedback especially from someone who’s had a similar experience. I’m open to any suggestions ! Thanks in advance

How to account for costs that don't have receipts? (thrift/vintage goods business)

So I run a small hobby/side business that makes a few grand per month selling vintage or valuable thrift finds. However many of these items I resell, are things I've bought at garage sales, flea markets, etc. that rarely have any receipts or paperwork to prove their costs. What happens if I'm ever audited and need to prove I bought a vintage lamp for $10 before i resold it for $50 etc? I obviously keep my own records of things I bought and for how much, but surely government wouldn't accept this as proof of costs/expenses?

Nayax sent me two CC readers when I only paid for one?

I purchased one through their website on and had the read come in days later. Well today, ANOTHER package came from Nayax with a 2nd reader inside. Do I contact them about it? Is there any way to keep it and use both without consequences? I don't want to pay to ship it back for sure.

Biz ideas for high performing sales professional?

I am a high performing salesperson who has worked in several industries including telecommunications, IT Remarketing and medical device sales. I have a track record of exceeding revenue targets and goals and have also built high performing sales teams. My dream is to someday start a business. My problem is that I don’t many skills outside of this realm and I struggle with how I can apply them to a service related business. The only thing I can really think of is to be a sales consultant but I don’t know where to start or how successful these types of ventures are. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Offering to make changes/recommendations to Excel Spreadsheets *NOT SELLING ANYTHING*

Hello Everyone, before you read this, keep in mind I am not selling anything. I am offering to look at your Excel Spreadsheet(s)and provide changes/recommendations for free. For those who have a small business and use Excel to track anything (sales, transaction, inventory, etc), or use it for any other reason (time sheets, scheduling, etc), I wanted to offer my assistance. I am pretty good at Excel and truly enjoy automating spreadsheets, analyzing data, etc. If you are interested and want to see an example of what I can do, PM me and I will send you a sample of something I did for a family owned bakery. Again, this is something that I will not charge for, I just want to improve my skills. All that I request is feedback on the changes I make. If you are interested, please send me a private message!

Looking for an automated mail scanning service, but not a virtual mailroom (scan all mail of same format)

I'm looking to create a service where users will be mailing in the same, expected format. This will be either a postcard or a single sheet of paper. I'd then like to have that mail automatically be scanned and uploaded to a location I could access it, ideally where I could further interact via an API. Does anyone know of such a service? It seems like most mail scanning services are based on processing standard mail and only opening those items you request. I'm looking for something that scans all mail, knowing that all the mail will be the same (and is thus also priced for this, rather than assuming only a few items will need to be opened). I prefer the single sheet of paper in an envelope, but I'm open to postcards if it makes it easier, since those wouldn't need to be opened.

What is a reasonable charge to create Wix sites for small businesses?

I am looking for a side hustle and am pretty good at designing Wix sites. I would like to design a few for local small businesses and was wondering what a reasonable charge would be? I know small businesses do not have much profit, and I am no expert, so I clearly wouldn't charge a ridiculous amount. Those who own businesses: how much would you pay? My ballpark estimate is about $200-$400 per site - is this reasonable?

Questions for people using Novo

I've been using Novo for a little over a year and I like it well enough for my small media production company, but I'm trying to find out if there's a different sub specific to discussing it and any q&a. If there's anything like that, is love to know. I've only ever seen info on this sub, so I'm sorry if it's the wrong one to ask this 😬
