Starting a small business, need help with forms 🙏

Hi all, I’m starting a small woodworking business out of my house. I’ve registered the business name with my state and got a EIN. I just got a letter in the mail for a “Safety Manual Order Form”. One line says “Federal OSHA laws require all employers to provide a place of employment which is free from recognized hazards… etc etc” and is requesting $295 to prepare a safety book. I also got another letter requesting $86.25 to issue a compliant labor law poster. But yet again, I don’t have a storefront and I don’t have any employees. Im familiar with this poster but don’t see a reason to have one at this moment. Is this a scam or something I should consider doing? I don’t have an official storefront nor have I even *actually* started the business. I just wanted to get the company in the books before someone else uses it. I intend to actually start the business in the near future though.

How can small business band together to create a customer rating system?

Like the title states. I think small businesses need to come together on this issues. We need a system. So sick of having no recourse with terrible people.

Didn’t know where else to share this.

I’m feeling pretty ecstatic. My wife is sick of hearing about it but I’m riding high. I closed my first client for my business the first day of outreach - first time speaking to this person to boot. (just got LLC formation yesterday and haven’t even set up a website or have an account to collect payment! That’s tomorrow!) committed on first call to $500/mo for 1 year for reputation management and message marketing to past client database.

Where can I buy reviews?

Hey all, I run a small commercial cleaning service. We recently had a malicious customer that has been tearing us apart on google and yelp, our main sources of business. They're making new accounts (people we definitely haven't worked with) and it's honestly affecting our income stream. I believe it's our main competitor (only 2 cleaning services in our town). I know for a fact that they have been buying reviews, because there's no way they have 200 4/5 star reviews despite being open for around the same amount of time as us. Not looking for judgement, I'll look towards deleting the reviews after we recover our numbers and make our clients happy, I just want to bring up my rating temporarily so we don't lose any more business.

Pop Up Food Stand

Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone had any experience starting a pop up food stand? I want to open a stand that is exclusively at farmers market (for now) that sells unique baked goods. My main concern is being able to get into a farmers market despite the fact that the business is brand new and would only be a farmers market business if that makes sense. I am assuming I will need to start at smaller markets and work my way to bigger ones but is this realistic or do I need to build a presence before applying to markets? If anyone has done something similar and has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Manufacturer for a small business.

Hi guys, new to reddit. Hopefully I can get your thoughts on this. I am very much into teas so I opened up a corporation to sell loose teas online. Come to find out if you’re in LA County, under the CFO (Cottage Food Operation) permit you are not allowed to sell loose tea or anything edible online, you can only hand delivery it. I’m just wondering how everybody else sells such products. LA county has these restrictions, but I’m seeing a lot of teas being sold online from La County. Am I missing something? Just trying to make sense of this. I am now thinking of just selling tea accessories since they have this restrictions. Your opinions and thoughts are appreciated. Thanks so much :))

How to sell business blueprint/idea document?

Hi all, A few years ago I created a pdf document which details a business idea that I came up with several years ago and ran myself to generate a very decent side-income for several years. I sold several copies of the document on Ebay etc and had very positive feedback. I am now in the process of re-writing the document and making it more professional looking and more up-to-date. I would like to market this properly as a legitimate, unique side hustle and sell it on places other than Ebay. I am considering building my own website to sell it on but wondering what other people have done in the past in situations like this? Any advice would be much appreciated,

Advice on whether to close

I have a business in the niche but shady business of bare knuckle boxing. Recently I've had real trouble with my deliveries, and after exploring all options it just isn't financially viable to use another courier, but when my current courier is late I get threatened verbally and physically (one man turned up at my house) It's profitable and I hold the biggest market share in Europe, but my mental health is taking a huge hit due to worrying about deliveries 24/7. Its effecting my relationship and time with my kids. Do I walk away?

Business marketing strategy

I’ve recently opened a marketing firm and am looking to post more content on my Instagram to build a résumé if you will. I’m in need of volunteer business who would give me permission to use their business for me to make a marketing strategy video. It’ll be 30-60 seconds long and I would break down what approach I would use to promote your business based off your demographic, location, etc… no purchase necessary. I just need this for content purpose only.

Remote-controlled, PvP submarine game.

I just watched the latest Tom Scott video and the idea came to me. Imagine buying a small lake IRL and filling it with remotely controllable submarines. Players could then log into the game and control the subs remotely via a live camera feed and fire virtual torpedos at one another. I wish I had the time/money to do this on my own.
