Partner has lost mind, wants to buy me out. How do I proceed?

Own 50/50 partnership moving company. Only own 2 trucks. Have maybe 6 employees. Partner has been on a coke binge trying to be a king pin, selling coke in a company truck that I’ve paid for out of pocket. In his mania, he’s reached out to our right hand man saying he wants to buy me out because “we don’t need him, if he left tomorrow me and you could run this.” Little does he know, me and said right hand man have already been talking about leaving because business partner has been losing it lately, is a narcissist and impossible to work with. How do I go about this while protecting myself? Is there a possibility I wake up to the company account drained with no recourse? Will give more details if necessary

How do you get Google Reviews?

Doctor's office. We send out requests to review us via email daily. On a good day maybe 5% of folks review us. Rest of the time it is 0%. Our emails are definitely not blocked by spam. They reach the end-user. We make sure to send emails within 4-6 hours of service completion. They are not super personalized but short and heartfelt. We don't want to have a QR code or have staff ask for it at checkout. It feels cheesy to have that in healthcare. We are seeing competitors accumulate many more reviews daily. We suspect they are violating Google's Terms of Service by offering something in return (we don't and won't) but it is what it is. People are genuinely happy with our service. They are positively gushing at checkout. But they drive out and forget about us :( How do you drive up your response rate?

What to do with 100k that I will be happy with in 10-15 years?

I am 36 years old, 2 kids, head of household (husband makes no money). I have $100k that I would like to invest in something worthwhile that is very low risk. I don’t need that money now but would like to reap some rewards from it in about 10-15 years when my kids are older and I need to pay college, etc for them. I’ve tried starting businesses with some ideas I’ve had in the past but nothing amounted to anything and I just ended up wasting money. I was thinking real estate, but have no experience. Thoughts?

Mobile reimbursement

I have a small company and my employees use their personal cars for work purposes. I reimburse everyone at the federal rate of 65.5 cents a mile. They typically get reimbursed about 700-1500 tax free each month for their car usage. One of my employee’s car needs to be in the shop for a few days. Is it my responsibility to pay for her car rental so she can work? I’ve already told her I’d reimburse 1-2 days for it, but past that it’s her responsibility. This job requires the employee to have dependable transportation. Last year she made about $10,500 tax free for using her car. Aside from the rental reimbursement, she’s alos arguing with me that the mileage reimbursement doesn’t cover her vehicle costs. Am I the jerk?

The guy at my bank suggested I get an EIN Number for my small business?

Basically, my wife and I already pay more than enough to get our taxes done at H&R Block, we have complicated investments, so we leave nothing to chance. I am worried how this would affect how we do taxes. I am not sure how having an EIN number would benefit me. I honestly don't know anything about it. What's your advice?

Is it worth it to outsource bookkeeping?

My wife and I are purchasing a small medical practice that she’s been working at for 10+ years. One of the current owners did all the bookkeeping. We have it in the contract for them to act in good faith as a consultant to help us bridge any gaps that can reasonably be managed, but her support in this regard has been very underwhelming. The main duty of hers that we don’t have the personnel or bandwidth to fulfill is bookkeeping. They currently use Sage software, and I am wondering how effective and easy it is to outsource bookkeeping. I admittedly dont even have a great understanding as to what the role and day-to-day of a bookkeeper looks like, so any insight is much appreciated.

Finding a job in SMB? What’s your advice?

I’ve been unable to find a job for 8 months now. I left my old job to pursue full time school and then a couple of weeks after I quit, I found out my and I are expecting. So I started to look for a job again but my wife is about to give birth and I’m still unable to find one. I’m not sure if it’s the market but my specialty is in small business marketing. Mostly, paid ads and such. Is the economy this bad?

Can I go on disability for my regular 9-5 and still run my small business?

I am a construction worker for my everyday job. Includes heavy lifting, tight spaces, climbing every and anything I can’t do while on light duty. Recently hurt my back, Dr suggests disability. Will my small business affect benefits? I make custom cups on the side, literally made about $75 this whole month. Not much. Anyone ever been in this situation? Thanks in advance!

If you could ask for one valuable tool/resource from your CPA, what would it be?

Hi there. I'm a CPA and I started my practice a couple of months ago..I've been brainstorming best ways to provide valuable content to small business owners. I want it to be easy to understand and actionable. So far, the best I can think of is an ebook on "5 steps to read financial statements and grow your business" or a cash flow management tool but I'm not sure if it's relevant enough. What's one piece of valuable info you wish you got from your CPA? Thanks in advance!

Do you guys have experience with Brand Ambassadors? What's the best way to go about it?

As the title says, what's the best way to go about recruiting brand ambassadors? How should the payments be structured? Should they get an upfront payment and percentage of each sale they bring in or just percentage of each sale they bring in? How lucrative are brand ambassadors? Are they worth recruiting? Are there certain things they have to meet? (E.g. follower count, posts per week) Are there any actually good resources for this? I've looked at a few, and they were just super general with very little useful information.
