Employing Kids (Under 10) to your LLC to save taxes

Hello I have a soon-to-be 8-year-old. I run 1-person online business, LLC and S-Corp. I have heard that you can employ your kids, pay them up to $13,850 tax free (Fed & State?), out of that money, you can max out her Roth IRA and rest can be invested to her 529 plan or elsewhere. My question is, will IRS be suspicious about 8-year-old employee? How do I prove that she's an employ? Do I need to put her in my payroll (I'm in payroll as well for the S-Corp purpose)? If not, how would I prove that she worked? Can I simply put down her roles and let her do those roles and pay them on regular basis? This is something that can save my business since I can deduct close to $14K but want to make sure I do it correctly and legally. Thanks

Yelp for potential employees

I’ve been thinking about starting a website that allows employers to submit reviews of employees. A series of simple radio button selections that would take out the emotion (and potential lawsuit component). Think of it as a yelp review of employees that would be submitted anonymously as a means for employers to have (paid) access to search and see what issues they might be faced with upon hiring this individual. Ratemyprofessors comes to mind as an example of people eating people. The past 3 years have been incredibly difficult for small businesses. The low unemployment rate in the US seems to have contributed to an entitled mental state in employees that have led us to throw our hands up in the air and ask, “what did we miss with this one?” We have been ghosted on interviews countess times and by several full-time employees. Indeed allows for employee-based company reviews, why shouldn’t we also be able to provide red flags for the next possible employer?

Got a text from 844-899-8101 stating it's from Google

Is this text legit >This is Google Maps. Could you confirm if (713) 489-4336 is the correct phone number for That Good Pain Sports Massage? >Reply STOP to opt out; Reply HELP for more info; Msg & data rates may apply. If it is legit why would google communicate through text without the customer requesting communication through text. There are so many scams run through text that it feels like they would be normalizing people responding to possibly scam text. Also if it is google and I ignore or mark it as s sm will there be any negative impact on my Google business listing.

Is buying a convenience store a good idea?

I felt like working at a gas station as a cashier and customer service. But I heard many people usually buy their own store from a previous business owner whether it's a small convenience store or a gas station. With a good location and attraction for customers, I guess indeed they make a good profit. But I don't really know in depth about the pros and cons.

Business account through a credit union or a bank?

I recently got my LLC approved and now I’m needing to get a business account to accept payments. My business partner is in a different state so it’s important for the branches to be accessible for both of us, so nothing too local. I’m looking into Chase currently but I’ve also heard great things about getting a business account through a credit union, which wouldn’t be a problem as many have co-op branches in every state. What’s everyone’s experience having a business account through a bank and through a credit union? Pros and cons? Thanks!

Does any here have any experience owning a UPS Store?

Hello, I was recently laid off after 7 years from my job and have been thinking about a small business opportunity. I was thinking about maybe opening a UPS franchise store. Does anyone here have any experience/ feedback they can provide? Such as what to expect sales, cash flow, profit wise. Thanks in advance.

Are you still insurable after a large liability claim?

I had a close call with an employee almost causing a huge amount of damage on a jobsite, had it happened, wouldve been about $60,000-$80,000 in damage. We do have care custody and control coverage up to 100k. Was just wondering if you file a big claim like that are you just uninsurable after that? Would the rates be astronomical?

Start up

Hello, I am about to start up my lawn business and getting ready to purchase a mower. I am trying to determine a good Commerical use mower. I have tried to post similar post on two different groups and the mods bot removes it. Not sure why.

Noise study for conditional use permit

Hi anyone have any experience with performing a noise study needed for a conditional use permit. I need it to allow for live entertainment(dj) in my new venue. I contacted acoustic engineer and was quoted quite a bit.

What is the most cost-effective way to obtain or create a banner that people would pose in front of at a music festival?

Would love to get this custom made and I wouldn’t mind doing it myself or doing it in the most cost effective way possible but most websites would charge hundreds for this service. Pretty much would need a step and repeat banner or a flag type banner that you would see at any type of festival.

With a good location and attraction for customers, I guess indeed they make a good profit. After a few years in business they're able to transit into buying more business like investing in motel business and real estate. Indeed it's not a shortcut but I just thought about so I wanted to know. I don't know much about the whole business aspects but trying to learn. I don't really know in depth about the pros and cons.

Average membership acquisition per month?

Hi, I am interested in opening a sauna and cold plunge day spa just outside of Vancouver, Canada and I am looking for some market information on the average number of new members/month + customer churn I could expect. It will be a small venue to start with the capacity to hold 20 members at a time for a two hour session. Does anyone have experience running or owning a similar business and are you able to share some information? Thank you!
