Need advice on POS system for small pub/bar

Hello, We have a very small bar (1 location) that needs to upgrade our old-school cash register. We do not have a kitchen, just bottle beer, coke products, and prepackaged snacks. We are CASH only (ATM onsite) and do not plan to accept cards. What system (open source is fine) would accommodate the following: Very low cost setup No monthly fees Barcode scanner - to scan for ringing up orders and keeping inventory of product sold No credit card reader required Prefer stationary system instead of handheld Prefer "downloadable" system instead of one needing wifi as our wifi isn't as fast as Spectrum claims Bonus if has login for different employees, but not required. There's so many options out there with hefty monthly charges, but we just don't need all of the fancy features. Thanks in advance!

What was that one ingredient you didn't have for your business in the beginning that changed everything after?

Many people have different "a-ha" or "lightbulb" moments in their business. But I'm curious if you can briefly mention, which space you're in, and what one person/thing noticeably increased your customers, clients, sales, etc. If it's more than one thing, please share. But it seems a lot of business owners I talk to, something was switched on and made a world of difference for them. But I'm curious the industry or space, plus that ingredient that made the difference for you?

Can I sue Groupon for wrongfully listing my business number?

I contacted Groupon to run an ad campaign for my business, and I provided them with my contact and business information. Long story short, I decided to halt and wait before going through with the advertisement. A few days later my phone is ringing nonstop all hours of the day and it's people calling for groupon vouchers but for businesses that are not mine or even in my State! I looked up these business and sure enough, for some reason my business number is listed under these businesses' contact info on the Groupon vouchers. Total of 8 different businesses from random States all have MY business # listed, and I have contacted groupon and they have removed some, but more keep popping up! I have no idea what is going on or how my number is being leaked or put onto these businesses' advertisements but I am getting calls all day long.

Tech stack "must-haves" to launch a small business?

If you could do it all over again, what are the SaaS tools you would subscribe to before making your first $1.00? P.S. I'm sure many will say, "It depends on what business you're starting". I've intentionally kept it open-ended in hopes to get as many comments as possible to help anyone who might be asking themselves a similar question.

I’d like honest opinions on my new proposal idea.

We are event planners, mostly setting up proposals, anniversaries, and birthdays for couples indoor and outdoors. We’ve also setup bridal picnics, etc. Sigh* I honestly want to focus more on couples. I’m so passionate about love, and to make people smile when they see/feel the love from their SO. Anyways, I want to include a Freaky Fridays, where I tell people “instead of delivering roses to your SO, allow us to setup your bathtub with a jet bubble spa, chocolate covered strawberries, wine, rose petals, their favorite relaxing music, bath bombs, so when they get home on Friday after a long work week they can decompress/self care”. I’m sure I can word it better. But what do you all think? Would you pay for it? Do you all think this will grow my existing business?

SBA EIDL Notice of Default and Acceleration

Has anyone received a Notice of Default (75 days) and been able to reach an agreement with the SBA to bring the loan current and the SBA recall the default and reinstate into regular servicing?

Questions about business names for online business and LLC's

I am about to start an online store, with a few products. I already have a service based LLC and I was wondering if I need a new LLC for this business, or could I just use a dba for the online store? Also, do I need a unique name for a web store if there is another store with the same name if it's in another state? If they have not paid for a trademark, could I use the same name if they are not a big known brand?

Shipping methods?

Hello! I’m thinking of starting a small business selling thick blankets and home decor. What shipping method should I go with? No international shipping yet. But, how do I go about charging the correct price so I don’t get the package returned?

I Want To Start A Small Painting Busniess in SWFL. Do I Need A Liscense?

So I've been working for about the past 3 years in paint retail. I've learned a lot about paint and the business. I'll be moving back home to SWFL to finish up the last 2 years of a degree. I need to figure out a job, and I think I want to learn how to be a residential painter and work for some local companies. However, I also have aspirations to make some real money, and also be my own boss to make my own schedule, so I can work toward my actual passion of being a filmmaker. Little odd I know, but that's me. I'm not looking to be painting giant commercial buildings, or even hire employees. I just want a solo venture so I can survive and not have all my free time taken up by a job. My main questions are: Do I need a license just to paint residential houses? Can I just start an LLC and not have to worry? Will I need insurance? I'm open to messages if anyone has any answers or guidance, thanks.

Need advice: market myself as a copywriter

Hello, I need some advice on some methods to get clients. I’m just starting freelancing for email copywriter. Although I don’t have experience, I know I can do well and get small businesses results from my copy. I want to be able to contact businesses and them actually opening my messages and not blowing me off as a scammer. Any suggestions and advice will do.

Transitioning from small business owner to employee

Does anyone have advice on career opportunities for a person who has been self employed and owned a retail business who now wants to transition back to working for someone else? Ideally looking for something remote or with flexibility in terms of hours. The person has a bachelors degree in management and has started up, owned and operated a small business for 15 years? Any advice on specific industries or careers that look for this type of experience?
