Hello! I soon plan on starting my own business in private investigation and process service. I have been working for three years under a licensed PI, and will soon be getting my own license. He is very close to retiring, but may try to sell his small business. I never signed a noncompete agreement. Could I potentially be in any trouble if I start a new business and reach out to our current customers that I work with? I am in Michigan, if that matters.

Moving overseas for a year, what to do with LLC address?

Hi all, I'd be moving abroad to Europe for a year, and letting go of my current apartment (I live in NYC, and it's just too expensive to keep an empty apartment for a full year.) The issue is, my LLC's address is linked to my residential apartment. Question is, what should I do with my LLC's address after I give up my apartment, in the year that I'm not in the states? Would appreciate any advice for anyone who has gone through with this, thank you!

Will it get any better? Customer complaints making me depressed

Has anyone been so affected by a customer that you feel like giving up? Not just in business but in everything. Customer complaining and asking for refund over lost item (courier still hasn't located said parcel). Offered a replacement, customer said replacement not good enough and demanded refund (not exactly a small amount) My business was going great and had been steadily providing livelihood for my staff but this refund and harsh messages from this customer is really pushing me off the edge. How do you deal with these heartbreaks?
