Would you accept a return after 1 year?

I'm having a bit of a dilemma: A customer of mine ordered an item 1 year ago and now wants to return it, with it being un-opened and in its original packaging. However, my company has a strict 60-day window for returns, which is outlined in our return policy. What would you do? Would you take it back despite it being so far outside the window, or would you stick to the policy? Edit: It's a one-time customer who placed what is essentially a run-of-the-mill order and wants to return part of it.

How did you successfully get funding?

Hi everyone, How did you get funded in your early stages? I would like to get a better understanding of how much traction is needed and whether or not warm introductions matter. What was the timeline from when you first started to when you got your term sheets, to money in the bank? Did you bring in a board member? What was that like? Looking back on it, what are some common mistakes that you made during the process? We are currently fundraising and I am eager to learn from the wiser:) Thanks!

Polite way to decline a referral from a customer

Without making this post a tirade, how do you decline referrals from a customer who was a complete nightmare to deal with? I just had the worst experience with a customer and not only will I never work for their again but I don't want their friends coming to me for business either. I know that probably sounds nuts, but they were derogatory toward me in a personal way, not just about the product they received.

QR code help, don’t remember where I got it from

I played around on several site to make my QR code for my business cards. Some had fun Middle images, etc. I am now getting emails saying I need to pay for my QR code or it won’t be valid anymore. But that site doesn’t have my email address associated with it. So idk if that’s even valid. Is there a way to find who is hosting my QR code?

Aviation Training

Hello all. Just trying to get some input/guidance on using business funds to fund flight training. Obviously the business will have aviation related travel and business. Can I justifiably use my business funds/credit to pay for flight training?

Service business within a media business

This is a question that's been vexing me for a while and I go back and forth on it. About 5 years ago I started a digital media company that focuses on video content. The goal was to build up enough of an audience on YouTube that it could be monetized and these video brands would be self-sustaining. However, that's taking longer than I anticipated and in the meantime I need to sell video production services to other people and businesses. So my question is. Should I call the service portion of my business something different than the main business? Or should I just add a "services" page and go with the same name? I hope that makes sense. You can think of the services as a sub-business that utilizes the same skills as building a video brand, just doing it for a client and not our own original brands.

Sole Proprietor- What is the best payment processing system? Not Square as they seem to ask for additional information each time for some reason. Operations in text below

I sell perfumes and fragrances. I buy them from a wholesaler and sell them to Mexican business owners who sell them in Mexico. Transactions vary from 1,000 - 5,000 and sometimes $6-7K Square asks for additional information. It may look like at a lot of cash but 90% of it is COGS. Looking for an alternative processing system where I can manually input CC payment information. TIA!

An about us on a business site

Small business owner, I’m doing little updates on my site, but someone suggested creating an about us forum tab. I have no problem making one. I enjoy writing, but does anyone actually read those when ordering from a site? Maybe it’s just me, but in my 31 years of shopping online, I have never stopped to look for an about us page. I shop for what I want and check out. Suggestions?

Difference between Sales Revenue and Cash flow

I saw a business for sale online it says Sales Revenue 500,000 Cash Flow 90,000 does this mean it makes 500,000 on sales without taxes removed and cash flow it means it makes an additional 90,000 in cash money(not debit and visa) so it makes a total of 590,000 a year?

Hired a VA - what's the best way for her to help manage my Inbox/Email??

I hired my first VA. She has never been a VA before, although she has admin skills. What's the best way for her to help manage my Inbox and respond to clients? I was looking into setting up a specific folder on my email for her to use, or a tag of some sort. Should she respond as if she were me, or from her own email account?

Is Square POS withholding funds from business actually that common?

I’m considering switching from Moneris to Square mainly because of the many hardware options and intuitive inventory system but I’ve seen lots of online complaints regarding funds being held for 90 days when a large transaction is processed. We sell Musical Instruments and accessories that range in price from $10-$10k in price so this kind of scares me. Any advice is appreciated.
