● Hours before the makers of Axie Infinity told users about a devastating hack, Sky Mavis CEO Trung Nguyen moved about $3 million worth of the game’s main token, AXS. The company says it was to help users. ● The transfer came at a crucial time for Sky Mavis. The company was rushing to get a new version of Axie Infinity out when hackers drained its system of tokens that were worth over $600 million at the time. ● A Sky Mavis spokesperson said Nguyen made the transfer to shore up the company’s finances during the crisis, and had to do so in a way that wasn’t obvious to the broader crypto market, for the good of the overall Axie Infinity economy. ● Tap the link in our bio for more. The proposed merger of Zee Entertainment Enterprises and Culver Max Entertainment (formerly Sony Pictures Networks India) has been approved by the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange, Zee Entertainment said in a statement on Friday.

Instagram says it is pausing its rollout of new features on its app following a backlash from users and celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner and Chrissy Teigen. Earlier in the week, Instagram boss Adam Mosseri posted several videos on Twitter explaining the changes, which include more video and “recommendations” being shown in feeds. As Bhavish Aggarwal-owned Ola is aiming to ramp up its electric vehicle business, the ride-hailing platform is now planning to lay off around 1,000 employees. Media reports say that verticals like mobility, hyperlocal, fintech, and its used car operations have all been included in the process. The Centre’s fiscal deficit for the first quarter of FY23 (April-June) came in at Rs 3.52 trillion, or 21.2 per cent of the full year target of Rs 16.6 trillion, and on the back of strong capital expenditure outlay and weak non-tax receipts. Fiscal deficit for the same period last year (April-June FY22) was Rs 2.7 trillion, or 18.2 per cent of the FY22 budget estimate of Rs 15.07 trillion. Data released by the Controller General of Accounts (CGA) on Friday showed that revenue receipts came in at Rs 5.68 trillion, or 25.8 per cent of the full year target, compared with 30.2 per cent for the same period last year. Net tax revenue was Rs 5.06 trillion, or 26.1 percent of BE, compared with 26.7 percent.
