I thought I’d take you on a little tour of our hardy annual patch and show you a few seeds you can easily collect in your own garden. Our next big seed sale is going to be in early September and there are links in my bio to preview what varieties will be included in the sale and there’s also a spot to join our newsletter if you want more information about it. #floretseeds

I can’t think of a better way to kick off the weekend than the first handful of dahlias of the season. The dahlias are sloooowly starting to bloom here on the farm. One by one little pops of color are starting to show across the field. Growing dahlias requires patience & this year more so than any other. They are weeks behind of where we usually are here in the PNW but as soon as I see their little faces I forget all about the setbacks, weather issues & bug pressure. The heat has arrived, summer is here & slowly but surely so are the dahlias. Have a great weekend everybody! the results are in! #icymi we tested out three different ways to keep hydrangeas looking their freshest earlier this week ranging from cutting, crushing, or dipping the stem ends in a spice called alum powder. and the winner is... ✨ Pro Tips ✨ 💐 for a longer vase life, trim and re-dip/crush/cut your stems every three or four days, you'll get a gold star for swapping out the vase water at the same time. 💐 to give your blooms some extra H20 you can use a fine mist spray bottle to spritz the blooms each day. Hydrangeas are one of the rare flowers that can hydrate both through the stems and petals.
