Advice on renting
Hi all, I'm looking to move an existing business to a new location in a downtown area. The building I'm looking at is around 100 years old, and not in the best/most updated condition. I have a strong distrust of landlords/commercial building owners, and this one claims that he didn't do some necessary repairs because he wanted to wait to see what the next client needed before spending money on something that would get ripped up/removed. The floor on this place is very old painted wood. One of the front windows has a broken seal and needs to be replaced. The landlord says he'll make concessions for the expenses - two months free rent, something along those lines. My concern is that there will be other structural issues that occur after the lease starts, and wondering what steps I can take to catch them ahead of time. I've only rented in newer buildings that were in much better repair than this one. Any advice? Joe

Coffee Van
Hi all, I’m thinking about dabbling in starting my own business! That business being a coffee van. I’ve been doing the research and have friends and family that run their own businesses that are helping me along the way. But anyone on here with experience in the coffee industry have any tips they can pass on? How profitable can a coffee van actually be from personal experience? I’ve got a van sighted for £17000 and taken into account insurance / license and cost of product. Thanks
