How do you calculate your wholesale price?
From what I’ve seen on google, you add up all of your costs and then double it to have at least a 50% profit margin. Is that true? I know you make way more money with direct to consumer, how do you make wholesale worth it? Also, please explain this to me like I’m a 10 year old. 😂 My small business started as a side hustle that took off and I don’t have a business degree so I don’t know much terminology.

Just had my first absolutely off-the-wall client. What was your first client experience that truly shocked you?
I know I’m very lucky in that 95% of my clients are a dream to work with. About 4% are difficult, but manageable. That other 1% however…wow. As a new business owner of less than one year, this was the first interaction that truly flabbergasted me. The client refused to pay a nominal fee for a service that had been completed and previously agreed to by their partner. I re-explained my standard policies and procedures, and then they quickly escalated to calling me fraudulent and threatening me with litigation…over nothing at all. I reviewed all our communication, and they do not have any legal standing. Anyway, the situation has been resolved, but I took a loss for the sake of my reputation. Yet, I am embarrassed to say that this entire debacle has completely ruined my week, and really thrown me for a loop. I would really appreciate hearing anybody else’s experiences with bonkers clients while they were starting out!

Scammed by The Knot and Wedding Wire
I have serious dreams of building my wedding/ floral business. The knot and wedding wire have totally scammed me out of thousands and completely smashed my dreams after promising and not delivering. I signed up under 3 categories along with my business partner and after six months of broken promises, we tried to end the contract. We then realized that my contract was never signed for two of our profiles. Only my business partner signed her contract for her one profile. They are allowing my business partner to ditch her contract by demanding that I now sign my old contract. Can anyone provide some advice as to how I can move forward with this? They are now putting derogatory remarks on my business partners business credit, and refusing to let me out of my non existing contract without even renegotiating our Monthly charges.

Bookkeeping Software Recommendations
Hello: I am bootstrapping a small business. My Undergrad is in finance, and I am working on a dual accounting with it as they're so similar. I know enough about book keeping to do some of my own. The companies don't generate a significant amount of revenue, but I believe I could sell in in 1 to 2 years. I am looking for a free bookkeeping software. I haven't been a huge fan of quickbooks, and was hoping for something a bit more automated than excel. I do not have funds for big corporate accounting software. I have been recommended GnuCash and KMyMoney. Does anyone have any recommendations for some low cost, ideally free, bookkeeping software? There's a ton if you google it. Once I find out what I need, I will be more open to purchasing software. Thanks in advance.

Small fair food themed mobile startup would it be better to go s-corp or LLC?
I'm starting a small carnival food 12x12x12 tent serving cotton candy, hot dogs, and popcorn. I'm about to apply for SBA loans and preferably grants. I'm starting a LLC and I was looking at some of the tax differences between S-corp and LLC and I was looking to see if anyone had advice on here or has done this before themselves.

SMALL BUS 101 HELP
Hi I need all the basics here I'm an independent stylist, I rent a suite and want to expand to small space and rent out stations to contract stylists to cover the rent of said space. For now: I make about $1000 daily via my clients. I funded all the equipment and supplies myself. I pay for ads on social media.I pay about $1,100 a month for this suite. I am doing very well and I am ready to expand. I just want to know the basics for renting a commercial space. Do I need a realtor? How does funding work, is there a lender/loan specifically for leasing? I've scoped out some spaces locally and the realtors won't talk #s via email. Do I need to prove my income or the potential income with the added stylists. What do I need to know before looking at places?
