On this day 13 years ago, a trade was done when forum user paid 10,000 BTC for 2 pizzas. Happy Bitcoin Pizza day.

Right now it's May 22nd, at least on my timezone, which means 13 years ago Laszlo Hanyecz, a BTCtalk forum user decided he wanted to trade Bitcoin for some real life good. As pretty much most of you know he made a deal with another user that he would order him 2 pizzas in exchange for 10,000 BTC and the rest is history. Since then this has become a day called Bitcoin Pizza day celebrated amongst crypto community. By today's Bitcoin prices he paid about 135 million USD for each pizza. So hopefully it was a pretty great pizza for Laszlo that he doesn't regret buying.

Metamask withholding taxes FUD

Hi All, there have been many posts here claiming metamask is now withholding taxes because of a line in the consensys TOS They have officially clarified they are not withholding taxes in metamask https://twitter.com/ConsenSys/status/1660353688446050304 >Legal terminology can be complex, but it's crucial to emphasize that this section DOES NOT apply to MetaMask or any other products that don't involve sales tax. >We believe in transparency and accuracy when it comes to sharing information with our users. if you actually thought about it, it's not possible for them to do so. They don't know what country I live in, my taxable income, how much I paid for my crypto to know how much tax I owe (you only pay taxes on gains remember) and most importantly they don't have my keys so can't sign transactions on my behalf It's very important to not jump at headlines and assume they are correct or have all the information.

Ripple (XRP) vs. SEC: A Game-Changer for Crypto?

[https://www.axeconsultingco.com/post/ripple-xrp-and-the-sec-an-examination-of-the-ongoing-legal-battle-and-its-implications](https://www.axeconsultingco.com/post/ripple-xrp-and-the-sec-an-examination-of-the-ongoing-legal-battle-and-its-implications) Hey folks, I found an article about a big legal fight between Ripple (XRP) and the SEC. The SEC says Ripple should've registered XRP as a security, but Ripple disagrees. The outcome could change a lot for Ripple, XRP, and all digital money. If the SEC wins, Ripple might have to pay big fines, and XRP could get taken off major digital money exchanges. But if Ripple wins, it could boost confidence in digital money and influence how it's regulated in the future. This case isn't just about Ripple and XRP, it's also started a bigger conversation about how digital money should be regulated. The outcome could help clear up some of the confusion about how digital money should be regulated.

What is the current best way to sell/cashout in the USA?

HODLer needs some fiat :/ What platform or service is the best way to exchange crypto for US dollars at this point in time? I will be paying all applicable taxes, but also wondering if there is a way to pay less of that legally. I've never reduced my holdings this way, I am unaware of what different options might exist. I have not yet decided whether to sell BTC, ETH or LTC. I didn't know this sub had a minimum post size, I'd think many concepts worthy of discussion can be conveyed quicker but I can deal :)

Is there a secure and open source Hardware Wallet for Ethereum?

In light of the Ledger scandal, I am looking for a new hardware wallet. There was plenty of other things that bothered me about ledger before the scandal, and now this tipped the scale. Bitcoin has the Cold Card, what options does Ethereum have?

Safely storing BTC

Let's say someone wants to store BTC but doesn't want to use Ledger or Trezor. More like going into the store and buying a brand new pc/laptop then using that one only as a crypto storage. Which Wallet seems to be the best choice in this scenario (Electrum, Atomic Wallet, etc.)?
