Is anyone saving money for their kids through crypto rather than traditional methods?

I didn't really know how to word this question / discussion so please bear with me. I have a 2 year-old kid and like a lot of people with children I want to save a bit each month for their future. I started the simple route of a monthly amount of X through my bank with the odd cash thrown in a squirrel spot when I'm able to spare it. Do you think it's worth swapping this strategy for one that partly involves crypto? Obviously only looking at BTC, possibly ETH as I can't see it budging. While I totally appreciate and would take onboard the risk, the growth potential (we hope) over the next 15-20 years against normal banking is making me wonder if I'd be silly to miss that train. Would be interesting to hear what people's thoughts are or if they are doing this themselves already. If I'm just being a plank and it's a stupid idea I'll welcome the abuse too. My hope is by the time they get to use the amount - whichever way it comes - crypto will be an everyday part of their lives.

MetaMask Scam Alert: Your wallet is temporarily suspended!

I just received an email to my Gmail account (screen shot below) instructing me to 'manually merge' my wallet. This makes no sense, so clearly this is the first red flag. https://preview.redd.it/j63l2suxl8t91.png?width=1259&format=png&auto=webp&s=dd66caf55fe29d8264d6992990d2b1320e3c7037 Clicking through the email redirects you to a page with the instructions to input your recovery phrase. Definitely second red flag. [no way](https://preview.redd.it/7h41gyymk8t91.png?width=1300&format=png&auto=webp&s=b6080d521da5a31b74141b3f06a29346974f13a3) Finally, any clicking on the menu items at the bottom of the page simply open a new tab, with the same passphrase recovery page. https://preview.redd.it/k2x6edb1l8t91.png?width=1334&format=png&auto=webp&s=6e78bd5559962328eddb479e10bcc4fa17b8d661 Yeah, so definitely delete this email if you get it.

The more quiet it is here, the higher the upside in the next run

It seems that it is quiet in this sub , generally. For the last months this holds true and it feels to me like we are in a sort of idle place where it slowly becomes quieter and feels like the sub is dying a slow death. Even though that says everything about today's cryptocurrency market and the overall status of most of our portfolios, it also indicates the bottoming of the market. It almost feels as if we are in the eye of a hurricane, or at a calm *before* the storm. There will be huge movements in the (near) future. We could go down a little still. But the upside, to me, given the "quietness" in cryptocurrency here and in general on social media, but with increasing adoption and visibility in the world, this must be going insane in the next bullrun. I can't wait. And I'll be looking back at these weeks and months with a smile on my face. I hope.

Rich millennials say Crypto is the best long-term investment. "Those aged 21 to 42 with more than $3 million in investible assets ranked cryptocurrencies and so-called "digital assets" as the top opportunity for building long-term wealth, ahead of everything else including stocks"

Forgetting rule #1? Don't talk about your personal stake.

Feel like this needs to be repeated again for the folks in the back. **Do NOT talk about how much cryptocurrency you have. EVER.** If somebody presses you for an answer, the only answer is "not enough". Frankly, your Reddit profiles are a data mine of information about you as a user, and a significant number of you are likely using the same name on other accounts that may have your email address or have experienced leaks. All of this just lays a roadmap for malicious individuals to target your accounts at retail/custody institutions. 2ish years ago I had a friend who got published in a local news article about bitcoin. Within 48 hours his phone sim was transferred, and he was getting emailed about recovery info for several of his accounts. Do not think just because you're a small player you are not a target. It's always about the low hanging fruit.
