This orchid’s pollinators, tiny fungi-dwelling flies, have a different view. To them, this orchid looks and smells like their favourite mushroom, and their frequent visits ensure that pollination occurs. 🍄 https://t.co/5hqD5ZCvtn

Dracula orchids are mostly found high in the cloud forest where temperatures vary from cool to warm and humidity is high. They are epiphytes which means that they're non-parasitic plants that live on the surface of trees, anchoring their roots into thick mats of moss. https://t.co/EUQyLQITJY

The genus name Dracula has nothing to do with vampires and everything to do with dragons. The word translates to 'a little dragon' as it's said that they have a dragon-like appearance. https://t.co/pfjZ5M26p3

Duncan turns 16 today! I know it’s not my normal flower filled post today but it’s a big day around here & this guy deserves a spot on my grid. It’s seems like just yesterday he was a puppy running around with my oldest son. I’ve watched them grow up together & now as one enters his last years & the other starts the beginning of his adult life I wish more than ever that time would slow down. This guy has been by my side through it all & everyday is an absolute gift! Happy Birthday Dunk, you are the best dog ever! 📷 kellyclarephotography #mansbestfriend #farmdog #thefarmhouseflowerfarm
