A few weeks ago we finished dividing all of the tubers from the dahlia breeding patch and I’m still in shock over just how well they did. In all, we ended up with 9,953 tubers from 215 different varieties. These are a few of those special babies. Over on the blog I’ve written a new post (link in bio) all about the dahlia breeding project, how it came to be, where we’re at right now, and plans for the future. At the bottom of the post there’s a breeding inspired giveaway that includes a signed copy of Discovering Dahlias, 5 packets of seed from the breeding patch and a copy of santacruzdahlias wonderful book Dahlia Breeding for the Farmer-Florist and the Home Gardener. I hope you enjoy it! #floretdahlias #discoveringdahlias

Did you know...? There may be as many as 3.8 million fungal species, but science has only named around 144,000 of them. Kew is also home to the world’s largest fungarium, with around 1.25 million specimens. πŸ„ #BritishScienceWeek https://t.co/pQqVTkBVt7

The countdown is ON – in less than a month FrancoiseWeeks and I will have our hands deep in the bounty of spring! It’s been two and a half years since we last had the opportunity to be together and teach and we're really looking forward to this hands-on creative gathering. The workshop will take place in my new studio in Snohomish, the perfect place to relax and nurture your creative spirit. After learning a variety of mechanics, you will create designs with woodland treasures and a plethora of spring flowers, creating botanical art by listening to your intuitive voice. This deeply creative, intimate workshop is open to all who love nature, flowers, art and community.
