Today is one of those delicious first spring days. First day wearing a tank top. First full day spending the day outside instead of in the greenhouse. First sunburn π We are still patiently waiting on our tulip crop. Lots and lots of buds under that beautiful green foliage! The outside planting is also all up! Ranunculus , poppies, and stock are thriving. A round of a few thousand plugs (snaps and foxglove) arrive Friday and will be bumped up into 4 & 6 packs for root development before planted out in early May. I organized the packs, made transplanting mixes, and filled the trays to get a head start today. Along with unloading another fertilizer order and pinching back the pansies and violets for Motherβs Day spring planted terracotta dishes. Feels good to be back in the farming game. Now hurry up tulips, we are all ready for some blooms! π #flowerfarmer #tulips #greenhousegrown #spring #womenwhofarm #sugarhill #coldclimategrowing #nh

I always wish daffodil season lasted a little longer than it does but I know their fleeting nature is what makes them so special. They are the first flowers to bloom in abundance here on the farm and by the time all of the varieties have had their turn flowering the landscape has transformed from late winter bare, to early spring glowing green. They typically give their last hurrah right as the crabapples burst into bloom and for a few short days it looks like heaven out in the orchard. Itβs an exciting day on the farm, weβve got some new faces around here. The ranunculus have arrived & the post office called at 4:30am this morning to say that our chicks are ready to be picked up. The ranunculus are gorgeous but I really canβt wait to meet our new girlsβ¦.. π€ Pictured: Ranunculus Champagne #flowerfarmer #flowerfarm #flowerfarming #ranunculus #springflowers #spring #localflowers #freshflowers #cutflowers #flowers #washingtonflowers #pnw #stanwood
