Have you ever been bitten by a snake 🐍 ? Every year over 4.5 million people worldwide are bitten by snakes, which can cause paralysis, injury, disabilities & even death. WHO works with countries to ✅ improve access to safe & effective treatments, ✅ educate communities about prevention & risk reduction, ✅ improve the training of health care workers, especially in remote areas. But snakebite isn't the only form of poisoning that can be life-threatening. That's why quick access to information & treatment are also important. Access to antidotes or antivenoms that can counteract the poisoning often saves lives.
