It's the first time Oxford's word of the year has been voted on by the public, and you lot did not disappoint π 'Goblin mode' came in first place with a whopping 318,956 votes (93% of the total), and describes how many of us have been feeling after attempting to return to a more normal life after covid lockdowns. "Given the year we've just experienced, 'goblin mode' resonates with all of us who are feeling a little overwhelmed at this point. It's a relief to acknowledge that we're not always the idealised, curated selves that we're encouraged to present on our Instagram and TikTok feeds," President of Oxford Languages Casper Grathwohl said.
