Nature's engineers are making a comeback 🦫 Beavers were hunted to extinction 400 years ago for their meat, scent sacs and fur, but have been successfully reintroduced into the UK. They are now recognised as invaluable species, as they can build dams that help to prevent flooding and pollution. #EarthCapture by tim_umphreys via Unsplash . . . . #EarthWeek #BeaversOfInstagram #Engineers #Europe #Rodents #CastorFiber

In all of my travels, if there's one thing I've learned, it's that supporting the local, family owned tour operators is where you can foster the most meaningful and intimate experiences. Beneath the imagery capturing visual memories of a trip are amazing people like Helga Melsteð based in Breiðdalsvík, a founder of tinnaadventure ... After the visitausturland freeride festival, I was lucky enough to jump in a rig with Helga where she pointed out one of the oldest bridges in Iceland built before cars had made it into the country - bringing light to the history and value of the Eastfjords.
