An engraved slab of stone dating to the Bronze Age (between 1900 and 1640 BCE), has been revealed to be Europe's oldest map, researchers say. Upon studying the rediscovered slab, they noticed that its surface was deliberately 3D-shaped to represent a valley, with lines in the stone thought to depict a river network. It appears to be portraying western Brittany in France, which is where the stone was originally discovered. (📸: Bournemouth University)

'Prince Harry’s intention with Oprah was never to hurt his grandparents, only to explain why he chose to move and step back. And it is unlikely that the unflappable Duke of Edinburgh – veteran of the Second World War – was much bothered by the interview with Winfrey. The Queen’s late consort had seen a multitude of family tragedy before he had even reached adulthood – a mother committed to a psychiatric hospital, a sister killed along with her children in a plane crash. One imagines that recent events rather paled in comparison for the stoical Duke. Besides, there was an unshakeable bond between grandfather and grandson, born partly from their joint passion for the military.' Follow the LinkInBio to read more

Sophie, Countess of Wessex has described the Duke of Edinburgh's final moments as "peaceful". Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, his wife, Sophie, Countess of Wessex and their daughter, Lady Louise, 17, attended a small church service at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor. They chatted to members of the congregation as well as people who work on the Windsor estate to thank them for their support particularly over the last few days. Following the service, the Countess of Wessex said: "It was right for him. It was so gentle. It was just like somebody took him by the hand and off he went. Very, very peaceful. And that’s all you want for somebody isn’t it?” Read more in the LinkInBio

'In some ways, it’s exciting, returning to my little fisherman’s cottage, able to wander Mousehole’s pretty, weaving streets and stand at the harbour wall with other locals, shouting, ‘Ooh!’ and ‘Ahh!’ at the waves, as if we’re watching fireworks.' 'In other ways, the novelty has worn off. Now back in the cottage, I find myself not charmed, but irritated, by people staring into my windows when I’m writing or sitting half-dressed. I’m frustrated by messages pinging in from people saying they’ve noticed my lights on, so I must be in, or they’ve spotted me that day in the shop. Someone I’ve never met messages me to say he saw me out driving my car. And although it is friendly, I’m surprised by how suffocating it feels.'
