I look at you sleeping next to me in your little mickey mouse diaper..with your curly baby hair pointing every which way...and I understand that even if I take a picture or record a video....this exact moment will still not be able to really come back to me again, this exquisite moment cannot be completely relived. It will be another distant memory soon enough. So I try so hard to focus and soak it up and burn it into my soul and my dna so I never forget how precious you are to me in this moment, even when you are the man you will become. ....Just a thought. Wanted to put something positive out there.

Do kids on your street/in your neighborhood play outside together?

I live in a neighborhood (cul-de-sac) in New Hampshire. We have a 3 year old son. We have several other kids in the neighborhood who rarely play outside (even in nice weather). My son is getting to the age where I'd love to have him playing spontaneously with other kids. I've tried to arrange playdates (pre-covid) and nothing much panned out. I remember playing outside with neighbors all the time growing up. When polling my other friends with young kids, it seems like this is the norm now. I feel like his only social interaction will be scheduled - school, sports, etc and it's sad! Makes me want to move to a master planned community where maybe people are more social.
