12 year old outright refuses to engage other kids.

I have a son 12yo. He outright refuses to engage other kids. I've tried everything. Rewards, discipline, vacations, wish lists, begging demand in pleading and everything in between. He says he's lonely for friends but still refuses to engage other kids. He won't even say "good morning" to the kids in his class. He has no friends, he doesn't talk to anyone, he just wants to play games or think about fantasies in his head. He doesn't engage. Anyone really. I'm getting worried. Not only cause I want my kid to have friends but at the implications of his solitude could have on his mental health. I have an appointment with his counselor coming up. But does anyone have any advice?

I want to hear some positivity from dads or newborns

Hi there , I’ve been having a really rough time lately . I’ve been laid off while pregnant and not yet eligible for maternity leave , things have been quite difficult and have taken a pretty big toll on me . It’s been pretty stressful and I am just looking for a feel good post and something positive to look forward to and make me feel better . I already know what it feels like to be the mom of a newborn ( I had my first 13 years ago ) but my son ( who is due in May ) will be my husband’s first child and I am really excited to see how he responds to my son when he’s born . Dads of newborns , I would love to hear how meeting your child changed your life and some of the more positive aspects !
