After weighing our child care options, we hired my mom as a nanny. The outcome saved us money, but it came with an unpleasant emotional cost. https://t.co/RDHythxpO6

Teenager Unexcited About Graduating High School
I am currently dealing with a soon to be high school graduate (17f) and she appears to be very unenthusiastic about graduating high school. She's a straight A+ student and has been doing online school for nearly 7 years. She volunteers, attends career seminars, and does other community focused activities, she also has her top 3 colleges picked out and got accepted into a few. However, whenever the topic of graduating is brought up, she re-directs the converstation. We're all rooting for her, and I know every child is different, but you'd think most teenagers would be excited to enter a new life stage. Did I do something wrong, and what did you do to help prepare your children for post graduation life. We suspect that she might be feeling overwhelmed at this time trying to process everything and I think the fact that covid took away her most valuable HS years (10th-12th), may have put her at a disadvantage in terms of preparation. Please help, all advice welcome!

In true mom brain fashion…
It took about 10 seconds to realize that my watch was talking about my LO screeching at dinner. It’s just normal at this point 🤷♀️

I don’t know if I’m meant to be a Mom.
I love my son. He’s 9 months old. But I feel like I am unfit to be his Mother at times. I have lots of good days with him and lots of bad days where I just cannot be bothered or want to deal with his fussiness. I know I most likely feel this way from being tired pretty much 24/7 but it’s a terrible feeling. I get snappy and irritated so quickly. I have no life anymore since he was born and don’t have a single second to make *me happy*. I don’t know what happiness is anymore. The second he sleeps all I want to do is relax and I don’t get anything done. I feel so unproductive and lazy. I just hate how I feel lately.

The post about the baby with the bloody nappy - are they ok?
Just went to check and couldn’t find it. Sending love to that mum and hope all is ok.

Discourse suggests that all teachers should be going the extra mile and that, in fact, going the extra mile is what defines being a "good teacher." But that’s a dangerous misconception. @JYooBrannon @EdSurge https://t.co/gbMVOTpDxf

What can I do to help my friend with her newborn?
I won’t be having children and so my friends children are as close as I get to being an aunty. I have got the bub some gifts but I know she needs support and help and I have no idea what I can get for her or what I can do. I’ve offered to come round and watch him and do nappies and feeds so she can rest and she said thank you. Is there anything you needed as a new parent? Anything I wouldn’t have considered? Some inside knowledge? I will of course continue asking her cos that’s the easiest way to know but I suspect she would prioritise her baby over her well-being (I think that’s fairly normal) and I want to know if there’s anything I can do for HER. Thank you

Breastfeeding in public with large boobs
I'm struggling with how to hold my baby while out of the house. I have pretty large breasts (42 G). My son is almost 3 months. He was born premature at 33 weeks. We've only been breastfeeding for about a month now. At home I use a boppy and hold my breast for him, I just can't figure out how to hold him without a pillow. I would really like to not have to bring bottles of breastmilk with us when we leave the house. Any tips from other big chested mama's?

I don’t cook. How can I get started?
I’m not the most domestic person but I can get by. My mom insisted on letting me do what I wanted when I was growing up bc she was so badly treated by her family and in laws (read: treated like a maid) so despite her being an amazing cook I’m not that great bc I was too busy playing and studying. What can I do to better myself? I want my daughter to love my food the way I love my moms. Im trying to learn as much as I can from my mom but it’s hard bc shes far and works odd hours. My daughter is just starting solids and im feeling pressure to learn fast.

Best days for birthday parties
We're doing an arcade birthday party for my daughter. What day is best for ? We're looking at Friday afternoon because it's after school and not as busy. Last time we did though, half the kids couldn't come. Would Saturday be better?

Need Advice! Having baby close to best friends wedding
My best friend (one of them lol) is getting married early July. I am due with my second baby end of June. My first baby was a C-section and only seven months ago so this one has to be a C-section too. I finally had my friend and her fiancé over to let them know I’m pregnant again, and unfortunately won’t be able to make it to their wedding. She replied with you’re coming even if you’re in a wheelchair. I’ve talked to my hubby, and bringing a one year old and a possibly two week old baby to a wedding is just not feasible, never mind taken into account I’ll be recovering from a C-section and the wedding is four hours away from our home. I’m trying to be sensitive to my friend, but I’m at a loss how to bring it up again, please 🙏🏼 help
