How do you tween moms deal with shaving? My 12yr old daughter doesn't care, should I?
We have a pool and hot tub and regular swim parties throughout the spring and summer. We're also in CA so the weather year-round is relatively warm and mild (perfect tank-top climate). I've mentioned once or twice to my daughter over the years - ever since she started growing hair under her arms - that I'm happy to teach her to shave and help. So far she's just said "meh, I don't care" - which at 9, 10 and 11 I've thought was fine. But as she's getting into teenage years and now has a lot of long, thick underarm hair, I'm a bit torn between encouraging her to shave lest anyone say anything that makes her feel bad or just letting her stay apathetic about it and let her come to her own conclusion (at the risk of being made fun of). Any thoughts? Anyone else deal with this?

My 12 year old son told me he thought about killing himself.
This has been the worst few weeks/months in a long time. I’m 47 and last month my beautiful mom died unexpectedly. My son 12 has been having a really tough school year as well. 6th grade middle school he did great. This year 7th grade, his grades have dropped and he has a bully threatening to beat him up. He was grounded for failing classes in spite of being one of the smartest kids in class. We’ve been working with him on solutions and positive reinforcement but I think it’s all too much for him. My husband can be hard on him at times too. So I booked him an appointment for a tele health therapist tomorrow which he was ok with. He doesn’t actively want to hurt himself but he has thoughts. It’s fucking terrifying. I’m grieving my mom and worried my son is going to hurt himself. I guess this is just a vent. Thanks for listening.

my sister randomly stopped by...
And she grabbed my son from me, demanded I take a nap and i cried. It was the nicest thing anyone has ever done. Lol I was talking to her about how exghusted we are from reflux to crap sleep and naps, how I haven't gotten a nap in ages bc my son's refusing them most days. She lives an hour away... I was shocked and stunned at the kindness. ❤️🥲

If a freshman boy sent your daughter (14) videos of himself would you press charges
For context, my kid just turned 14 and is in middle school and the boy is a freshman. He sent a video of himself masturbating, which she did not want or ask for. Edit to add: she said after talking to some of her friends, this boy has apparently done similar things to other girls.

I got an email that my 6 year old is in trouble at school and the teacher wants to meet.
Apparently she and two other girls "partially removed their pants and exposed their buttocks to the rest of the class" while saying "*nana na na na*" *sigh* This is a pinching the bridge of the nose and squinting the eyes moment for sure. Pickup is in 2 hours. I'm sure this conversation will go well.

Only taking one child to Disney (one would be 2)
We’ve been thinking about taking our oldest to Disney for her 5th or 6th birthday. It would be a couple day trip. Around that time our son would be 2 or 3. I know at 2 he would be free but the thought of taking him to the park at either of those ages sounds like a headache. Would it be so horrible to have him stay with grandma and grandpa back home and just take sister. He’ll go when he’s older but I’d like the trip to be enjoyable for all and the parks can be so overwhelming.

My house will never be spotless (because we actually live here), but I can take small steps to keep the place as tidy as possible. Today I tackled my kitchen. #cleaning #organization #kitchen #cleanmyhouse #cleanmykitchen https://t.co/9QHVlx65Q7

Is there any research against extended breastfeeding/12+ months?
A close friend of mine is an early development specialist/psychologist and in school for something related to the field. She also works at a prominent center for early intervention. It’s their stance that breastfeeding should cease slowly after 8 months and completely stop by 12 months. They link a lot of behavioral issues to prolonged breastfeeding, bed sharing and attachment parenting related practices. Is there any research that would support this? It is extremely frustrating to receive critique about breastfeeding a 1 year old while the pediatrician is in full support. I would like to understand the scientific reasoning. PS. The said practice is not in the US, but in an Eastern European country.

How to correct behavior
How do you correct behavior when kids do something wrong? I've tried talking to them, they don't listen. I won't spank them, and I don't want to take toys away. Any suggestions?
