I’m convinced that no other human body part grows faster than a squirmy infant’s fingernails.
Seriously, it is a constant battle to keep this kid from scratching her face off in her sleep.

Boomer nostagia memes. Can I just vent?
You always have that one aunt or uncle who likes to post memes extolling how great their childhood was in a way that disparages other generations. Like "We're the generation who went OUTSIDE! We're the generation that HAD PARENTS WHO WERE THERE! We're the generation who TOOK RISKS AND RODE BIKES!". Things like that. They fail to realize that a) other generations rode bikes and listened to music, and b) how they were raised was a reflection on THEIR PARENTS not them. Like, its so like a boomer to act like how they grew up was superior and somehow take credit from it (even though they weren't parenting themselves).

I get that he's angry at me, but what did the kids do, to deserve all this shit from him?
I told my husband I want a divorce, and now he's unleashing on our kids, making them feel small, miserable and guilts them, for daring to speak up about how he mistreated them (he was emotionally and physically abusive). He told them he'll never forgive them for calling him a monster, abuser and molester - something they never did, nor did I. He calls himself these names, for god knows what reason, and that karma will eventually get them. Like wtf? I hate seeing my kids, especially my two girls, breaking down after every conversation with him. He's becoming unhinged and I hate that he's still in the house for now. Although I do have an appointment with the lawyer.... Ugh, I'm so mad they have an asshole for a dad!

Regretting my decision to have a 2nd.
It took me 2.5 years to get on board after a rough delivery/postpartum with my first but I decided long term I wanted another one for a variety of reasons. This time around I had a difficult birth again (preeclampsia, baby in nicu for 4 days, early c section at 37 weeks. We finally came home last week after I was readmitted with high blood pressure. My hormones are out of whack and I feel the ppd/ppa this time again but am on top of it with my doc regarding meds. But my 3.5 year old has regressed, coming into my room at night. On top of that dealing with the night wakings and being sleep deprived again after not waking up at night for months and months has taken a toll and I am wondering - why does anyone have more than one?? The only thing keeping me going is I viewed this as a long term thing but also this time around I know it all passes and they are only this small for so long. Did anyone else feel this way? Does it get better?

I thought you guys might have some good recommendations for sex ed books that would be appropriate for a 6.5 yo... :)
So my younger one has been repeatedly bringing up how babies are made and my simple descriptions aren't working. I like to use books rather than trying to explain it myself because you never know if you might leave something out somehow, or be confusing, etc. I don't remember which book I got for my older one so I'm hoping somebody here has a good one. Thanks!!

Fuck phantom kicks
I’m not pregnant. I’m on the implant - plus you know, you actually have to have sex… they’re super rare but any time they happen my heart falls out my arsehole. The idea that I could be pregnant - and that far along that I can feel kicks - is terrifying (I mean I’m in the U.K. so at least I’ve got that - but I don’t know if I could terminate even though I absolutely would have to)

How do we explain the concept of divorce to a 4-year-old girl?
My sister is raising a wonderful child, my niece, who is turning 4 this year. Because of my parents' divorce, my niece has 2 grandpas and 2 grandmas from our side (my dad, and my stepdad, my mom, my stepmom). Recently, she's been asking us why "grandma has 2 husbands." We want to be able to explain the concept of separation/divorce to her, as we always encourage her curiosity and willingness to learn... however, we have some worries -- How do we explain the concept of divorce to her without scaring her into thinking her own parents will be getting divorced? We don't want to plant that seed in her mind unnecessarily. Thank you for your help in advance...

Incremental Cost of Kids
My wife and I currently have 2 kids, a 3 year old and 20 month old. We are expecting a third later this year. This led me to think about all the incremental costs of having a third child that we didn’t necessarily have with a second. For example, most 2 row cars can fit 2 car seats but adding a third one is a stretch so we may need a new car. Going on vacation, most hotel rooms can comfortable fit 4 (when they are teenagers) so we may have to spring for an additional hotel room. I’m curious what are some other items/issues did you encounter when having a third child?
