Mayurasana form check
Hello fellow yogis, I've been really enjoying working on Mayurasana... Maybe someone with more experience can give me some pointers about my form :) Also, I wonder how to stop falling forward on my face 🤣 Thanks!!

Yoga for herniated disc
Hi all! I am relatively new to yoga but have been following beginner videos for almost a month daily. I really enjoy it as it helps reduce my anxiety along with getting in some daily exercise. The only problem is that I have been dealing with a herniated disc in my lower back for easily a year and a half. I’ve been in physical therapy for almost a year and I’ve only gotten slight relief. Some yoga positions do cause pain but I modify it as much as I can. So my question is, what positions can be good for herniated discs and if anyone has experienced herniated disc pain, did yoga help and how long did it take (I know everyone is different I just wanna compare) 😊 Thank you!

Men, what are some good apps/programs to get started? Also, how do you stay comfortable doing yoga?
Hey guys, I'm in my 30s and interested in getting started with yoga. Partially because of feeling more stiff, also having some pelvic pain issues. What are some good apps or videos to get started with yoga? Also, having done yoga a few times, how do you keep more sensitive parts supported and comfortable with poses? Thank you!

r/yoga I Require advice, In Order To Full Split ,
20yr/o M, 3 year experience. My obstacle Is Tension in the ligament in the back/side knee just below inner thighs as well as Inner Thigh tension. It is probably the most acute\intense sensation I experienced while exploring movement, I would like to loosen the toughness of this area and enjoy participating in splits and straddles.

Pain in Achille's tendon when in down dog?
I'm hypermobile, so it's rare that I would ever have any pain or difficulty stretching. The one thing that I do experience again and again though is sharp pain in my Achille's tendon when in down dog. Does anyone else experience this or have any suggestions of poses that might help with it? Any input will be much appreciated :)

Have trouble finding the right place to do headstands.
I can't practise it in my room since it's quite crowded and if I fall I will break something or hurt myself. I have also tried in an empty room but I fear that I will damage the walls/hurt myself from falling to the floor. I was thinking maybe outside on a grassy area, assisted by a friend to hype me up. What do you guys think? Note: I am aware that the FAQ section advices me to get a teacher and practise in a studio, but I am just interested in this particular skill.

RYS offering 200 hours training in SF East Bay Area?
I'm looking for a school to do in-person 200 hours training. I've been looking in the [yogaalliance.org](https://yogaalliance.org) directory and I found CorePower Yoga in Emeryville, CA. I'm finding a lot of schools that have a location in the East Bay but their 200 hour training in not offered in that location. Do you know of a good school for the 200 hour training in the Easy Bay, preferably a bit further east near Walnut Creek or Pleasanton? Alternatively, has anyone here done the online training? I'm more inclined to do the in-person training because it seems like that would be better but is it?

Can anyone explain purusa to me? (Inner light of awareness)
I’m trying to learn more about all aspects of yoga (not only asanas) and I’m reading The Path of the Yoga Sutras by Nicolai Bachman and while his writing is very reader- and beginner-friendly, I am still not sure if I understand what inner light of awareness is… Can you explain in your own words how you understand it? Maybe I will get it better. Thank you!!

Ever find yourself worrying about things that are out of your control? If you're human, the answer is probably yes! We all do it… despite knowing that it doesn’t serve us. In fact, it only allows us to become fixated, bogged down in fear + caught up in a bunch of “what if's" https://t.co/hiFugLrU1C

Places to go to and get lost for a week?
So my mental health is in the gutter and I really need to get away from my current chaotic life for a week to recharge because I’m losing it. I don’t wanna put myself in a mental hospital because that’s very traumatic. Does anyone know any good programs like yoga retreats where people get in a group and go somewhere in the mountains with no phones and meditate for a week?
