Being told I can't hold my son
Mil won't let me take care of my son right now because I have strep throat. I'm trying and falling to not ball my eyes out. She originally came down to watch him because our daycare provider is on vacation.

The info isn't usually the thing that makes PD feel like a waste of time, but rather how the information is organized and delivered. Adult learning theories bridge this disconnect and provide ways of educating adults effectively. @M_Anders211 @edutopia https://t.co/0hAA0Xzaxd

PSA for new moms: Discuss Mother’s Day with your partner now.
Every year, the weeks after Mother’s Day see a slew of posts from disappointed new moms who’s partners didn’t do anything for them because “I thought Mother’s Day was to celebrate my own mom!” And “My dad never did anything for my mom, it’s just for kids to make cards and stuff”. Lame excuses, but I see it every year. And then we also get a bunch of other posts from exhausted, disappointed moms who are expected to spend the whole day celebrating their own mothers, or their partners mothers, and no one bothers to do anything nice for them, and they are justifiably pissed off and sad. So, if you have any expectations or feelings about Mother’s day, address that with your partner now so you can get on the same page and have a nice day!

Hell no I'm not going to no gotdamn Easter egg hunt
My daughter is usually the smallest in her class, she's gentle and anxious and not competitive, and people SUCK. I've watched her own cousins just fucking bowl her over and almost step on her for stupid plastic eggs so how do you think strangers are going to act??? When I was a kid, it was me, I was the one who got pushed around and run over at the community Easter egg hunt. And I ended up with nothing and got pity eggs from the organizers which SUCKS. I know how shitty parents are and how shitty their kids are and I don't care how many members of my family try to get me to take my kids to an Easter egg hunt his weekend - I'm not doing it! We're doing one in our backyard with a different color for each kid so nobody gets left out and that's that.

I think it’s time to take action against school shootings.
I don’t know what to do or where to start but clearly the school boards and government aren’t going to do anything. We need to act. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? The latest in Nashville is 3 hours from me, I have taken my kids out and are homeschooling them. I WANT them in school but I will be damned if my kids come home in a body bag. Not everyone has this luxury and I want to fight for the kids that aren’t mine as well, this has got to END! What can we do moms? It’s time to rise up and save our babies.

I fucking did it bromos.
I finished my 4 year nursing degree and graduate in a few months. It's been an insane ride. University as a mom and wife was hard as fuck. Hard on family life, personal life which was non-existent, and probably the most damage done was to my marriage. Almost left my husband twice but ill spare the deets. I have never been so fucking proud of myself and I needed to put it out into the universe.

Need advice on baby sleep and feeding
I just got back from my Peditrician appointment. I told them my 8 week baby generally wakes to feed at 12am, 2am, and 5am. Baby also sleeps pretty well from 7:30-1am, then in and out between early morning feeds. What confuses me is my peds today told me that the baby should not be eating at all at night and should be sleeping through the night by now. She said to skip all night feedings. Is this realistic for a 2 month old baby? New mom here and appreciate the advice.

Autism diagnoses in children of color are increasing at the fastest rate. Does that mean access to resources and diagnosis has improved? Maybe not. https://t.co/ylvzWv4htY

Not everything has to be from scratch ffs
I like to make a lot from scratch but...as mums we ALL love a good cheat method, like a pizza crust or just getting the birthday cake from the bakery, which is what I'm doing. I was working on my eldests cake for this Saturday as it's her birthday. She decided to ruin the layers I baked beyond repair while they were cooling on the counter and I cba to start it over. Ofc all my childfree friends are always lecturing me on making Every. Single. Fucking. Thing. From. Scratch. Because SAHMs (especially chronically sick ones) have all the time in the world right? And we are just shit mums if god forbid we get takeaway once a month or something, or just buy the fucking cake in this case.

Going through puberty on the later side. How to help a boy cope?
I have 4 kids: 13, 12, 8, and 3. The older 3 are boys and I would say are pretty close. The oldest turns 14 this summer and will start high school in the fall. The oldest has just started to go through puberty. His doctor is not concerned. Says it is just genetics. Well, our 12 year old has also started puberty but is further down the line than his brother. I guess this is triggering some insecurities in my oldest dude and I am trying to figure out how to help him cope. He says that it is embarrassing because people think that they are twins (they are exactly the same height) or even that the younger one is older. Just looking for any advice.

The amount of emails these baby clothing companies send is insane
Carter's, Gerber, the children's place, Kyte, Little Sleepies, the list goes on and on and on. WHY must they said emails DAILY if not MULTIPLE EMAILS DAILY. Yes, we know you have the best sale of the year every day, good grief. Yes, I know I can unsubscribe/reduce the amount of emails, and I do, but it's still absolutely insane to me the amount of spamming these companies do to our inboxes. How many emails do us parents need to buy kids and baby clothes?! It's just a lot. wow. ok rant over lol

Birthday Party Registry
We are about to send out invitations for my son's 4th birthday party. I saw on the evite that there's an option to link to a registry, and Amazon has a birthday registry section. I wouldn't have considered a birthday party registry before having kids, but we seriously don't need more toys. I know we can ask people not to bring presents, but I've seen people disregard that wish plenty of times. Would it be in poor taste to link to a registry that has mostly consumables less than $20? (Like stickers, play dough, etc)
