I'm such a hypocrite.
The kids are exposed to a wide variety of foods. They eat balanced, home-cooked meals. They hardly ever have juice. At Halloween they're allowed to have just a few pieces of candy per day. And it has worked out great! They consider a piece of fruit to be dessert. Their favorite snacks include celery and carrots. ...but as soon as they go to bed, my wife and I stuff our faces with chips, ice cream, and the leftover Halloween candy the kids have forgotten about because we mete it out to them so slowly. Whatever. We're adults. We earned this. And these Oreos won't eat themselves.

Trying something new today
So, usual Saturday is as followsā¦Coffee. Start cleaning. Harass family to get ready to leave the house. Put up with whining instead of actually enjoying an activity. Today, coffee. Cleaning which DH silently helped with. In a little bit, Iām going to head to the ice rink to work on some rusty skills. Told family theyāre free to come with, but Iām going regardless. Anticipate Iāll be the only one. Thatās cool, I have a good audiobook on my phone and this will give me time to stop for coffee and run errands in peace afterwards. Tired of being the cruise ship director, taking a day for myself.

Hard to believe how easter bunny could be remotely cute/funny
This weekendās social media is full of pictures with gracefully dressed children and creepy looking character performers that look like a bunny?? I donāt understand this trend and I think these customes are all scary and from horror movies. Obviously kids donāt those cute either because many of them are crying in the picture.

TEENAGERS & EASTER?
Do you still celebrate easter once your littles have become teens? With 13 & 14 year old boys in the household we have no idea what their expectations are for Easter this year. We feel like they are getting too old for all the festivities they have grown up with and obviously they stopped believing in the easter bunny awhile ago but would it be dick to not do easter eggs, candy, gifts etc? We also have a 3 year old so balancing it all is a challenge this year! I was thinking maybe they would like to go to the mall and go on their own āscavenger huntā for things they want with a budget of course and as far as our 3 year old, personally I am open to starting a new easter tradition with her that doesnāt involve all the typical ongoings.

Curious to hear what personality traits of your baby (under 1 year old) stayed similar/the same as the got older (ie. Smiley, cried a lot, super chilled, easily frustrated etc).

How do you handle the guilt of being poor once divorced?
Iām finally divorcing my husband. We are in the process of dividing everything and all I can think about is how low the likelihood of ever being able to give my kids a nice house, yard, their own rooms, or inheritance is. I worry I will have so much less time for them because I will work so much more now to even be able to afford a one bedroom apartment. I wonāt be able to homeschool them now either. Also I read kids with a two parent household are more successful. How can I stop feeling so horribly selfish and guilty?

I HATE the playground, I said it.
I hate going to the playground. Iām always afraid my kid is about to die, Iām always freezing, I donāt like small talk with other parents, I donāt like seeing their gear, their kids or their snacks, for some reason Iām always drawn to want to look at my phone, even though I really have no reason to. I just donāt like going to the playground. I really really really donāt like it.

Having another one?
My wife and I have a 15 month old and she's already ready for another one, but l'm hesitant. This might sound really selfish, but we are just getting to the point where we can do things and having another one would just put us back to square one again. My biggest struggle is that I love this kid more than life itself and I don't know if I can love another one just the same or as much. I was devastated by the fact that we've also had a miscarriage and I'm scared to go through that again because I've still not gotten over it. All that to say, any second time fathers have any advice for me?

10 months in and still sad
Hey. I'm on the postpartum depression meds. But I still feel broken. Still not a mom. Still not pumped to spend more than an hour straight with my 10 month old. He's awesome. Ridiculously and objectively cute and fun. My husband is the most wonderful father. I just feel like I want to get in my car, drive, recreate myself in some obsolete small town where no one could ever find me again. I hate myself. I thought motherhood would change me. Make me selfless and happy. It has made me hate myself more. Sorry. Just lost and love reddit.

When did your milk come in?
This is my fourth baby. Iām almost 48 hours post partum and Iām still just making drops of colostrum. Itās been like this for me every time, and I do not like it. I usually supplement with formula because I just feel like baby is hungry and it makes me uncomfortable. Is it normal for milk to take this freaking long? It usually comes in for me on day 4 or 5 which really just sucks. I was hoping it would be different this time but Iām pretty close to sending my husband to the store for some ready to feed formula. Not to mention I gained the most I ever have this time (46 lbs) and my 6 year old ever so kindly asked me if thereās another baby in my stomach because itās so big š heās a sweet kid but that suckedš feeling womp womp womp right now.

Nap Chicken
I'd like to coin this phrase, here and now. Definition: gambling and scrambling to complete a task before the kids wake up. As in: "I know my kid may wait up at any moment, but I need to get this done... I'll play Nap Chicken." We've all done it. I'm doing it now as my youngest squirms on the monitor...

No danger
My baby doesnāt crawl yet, just army crawls. But he has NO sense of danger. He will try to crawl off any surface. The bed, picnic table, etc. I havenāt strapped him into his high chair before because he never tried to get outā¦ until today. Luckily Iām always next to him and donāt leave him unattended in the high chair, but of course heāll be getting strapped in from now on. Is it normal for babies to have this lack of a sense of danger or falling?

A minor and an adult exchanging $1 or $2 back n forth over Apple Pay multiple times?
Before I ask my son, Iād like to know if other parents have come across this issue. I looked up the adult in this case by using the phone number used in the Apple Pay transaction. Sheās out of state and her name is no one we knowā¦. Have other parents come across this scenario? In one day, they ping-ponged $2 back n forth three or four times. And then again a couple more times on a different day. The fact that sheās an adult (31F) and my son is 14 is obviously worrisome. Almost seems like flirting. Of course I will ask him whatās going on, but want to hear from other parents as well, esp if this is a tactic predators use.
