Why are there so many stories of people preferring to have a baby boy instead of a girl?
I’ve come across several comments online today (YouTube videos, Facebook) and I hear people share similar stories about how expecting parents were upset to find out they’re pregnant with a girl. Why is that? And when I ask my friends, all of them say they want a boy. Why is that? Another note, several of my aunts cried upon finding out they had a girl because they wanted a boy instead, some celebrities too I remember in the past. Why do some people prefer having a boy so bad?

I saw my daughter kissing a girl, did I play it right by not brining it up with her?
I picked up my daughter who will be 11 next week from softball practice and as I'm pulling in I see her kissing a girl on the lips, which is fine. (BTW I was 7 when I kissed a girl on the lips for the 1st time) However I dont think she saw me as I needed to send a work email before I let my daughter know I was there so I pulled into a back corner. When she got in I didn't address it with her and I respect her if she feels the time is not right to tell me. I didnt even mention it to my wife as I feel that she might bring it up to her and I dont her to feel I outed her.

Kids aren't born with #character: it must be intentionally nurtured. Raising moral people is serious work. Character is diminishing in our culture. "Children develop character by what they see, what they hear, and what they are repeatedly led to do.—James Stenson

Really need my son to stop pering standing up
My 3yo is potty training and he goes number 1 alone. First thing when he wakes up os going to the toilet but lately he started doing it standing up and I hate it. He sprays all over the bathroom and leaves a stinky mess. I’ve explained, talked to him, had him clean it up with me, even got one of those sticker targets for the inside of the bowl. he doesn’t have much control and thinks it’s fun to shoot his pee straight into the air. ARGH. He won’t sit down. What do i DO?

Stop infant formula hoarding and price gouging on eBay?
Infant formula is being sold on eBay for 3-10x it’s usual price. This marketplace encourages and increases hoarding (because it’s profitable) which makes the supply worse and harder for parents to feed their kids. The same thing happened during Covid with masks and sanitation supplies, and eBay eventually banned the sale of those items. They need to ban the sale of infant formula on their site NOW to prevent further escalation of the crisis. My question is, how can we get eBay to do this? Can we organize ourselves and apply pressure to the right people? Does anyone have any idea who we can email, tweet, and otherwise contact in order to maximize pressure to remove formula from eBay until the shortage is over? Please share your ideas so we can start to organize to get this fixed!/r/

Is it ok to take a 6 month old baby to a movie at the theatre?
For context- my husband and I plan to sit by the exit so if she starts crying we can get out quickly without walking in front of people. I breastfeed her to sleep most of the time so if she needs to be fed I can do it pretty discreetly and she will probably fall asleep.

I think he’s going to leave me
He just left because he “needs to get away for a few days”. For the second time in a month. This time there was no argument, I came home from dropping our daughter off at preschool and he told me he was going to his mom’s place, and we would talk about it soon. I don’t know how to feel. I know it’s probably the right thing for us, but I’m so fucking sad. I love him. I’m devastated for our daughter. She is only 2 and a half, but I know she would miss having both of us together. I would miss it too. He’s an amazing father, and he really has tried to improve our relationship lately. I haven’t lived up to my promises. I wish I could be a good partner on top of my responsibilities and despite my depression…

Juice & constipation
Anyone give their LO juice to help? My pediatrician recommended it. She’s 4 months and usually poops every 4-5 days but this week we’re almost going on a week 😢 he said like an ounce of apple juice or something, I need to call again to get the details I just didn’t know it was a thing. We’ve tried the windi as well.
