Got my 14 y/o his first dose of the Pfizer vaccine this morning.

Can't wait for him to be fully vaccinated. We were the first in the 12 to 15 y/Io line. We got interviewed by a local TV News crew. The lady reporter asked why I'm getting my son vaccinated. I said "You're asking the wrong guy. Shouldn't you be asking a parent somewhere other than here, why they aren't having their kids vaccinated?" She got a chuckle out of that, said that her producer will definitely air that segment. I set my DVR to record.

Self-control is such a superpower, can be taught and crucial in an anxious, uncertain world. But best lessons are never worksheets but living examples. Beware: kids are watching & desperately need models to copy. (That's US!) #Thrivers are made, not born. https://t.co/dlPgg0jiMb

Prom ..How much is too much?

So my daughter is shopping for a prom dress. And while her friends are paying over $500 for their prom dresses I feel that is like way too much for a dress she’s going to wear one night. We spent about 120 for her homecoming dress which is about fine but she’s been shopping and says that she doesn’t like any dresses except the ones that are over $400. Factor in nails and hair and that’s way over my budget. I know I shouldn’t feel bad but I don’t know why her friends always have to go overboard. She does not have a job yet I’ve been telling her to get one even if it’s part time as she will only be in college part time after graduation. Of course none of her friends have to workSo here I am feeling bad again. Just venting ...

How to Be More Strict

Hello, I am a single divorced mother (34f) with full custody and my daughter (4.5f) is spoiled. She has five grandparents that are extremely involved and then there is me...so I am the ONLY one that disciplines her or sets boundaries. I am not naturally good at this AT ALL. I am a softy. I practice Love and Logic...I try to use natural consequences. I take things away when she acts up but...I feel like every day she is getting more bratty and not listening to my directions. Are there any great books for someone like me? I am willing to do whatever it takes to make sure she turns out kind and right now she is entitled and rude when she doesn't get what she wants.

I’m Pregnant!

It is super early. We were trying and tracking ovulation so I tested way early. This will be our second and last. Now I find myself re-testing daily sometimes multiple times a day. Wishing that second pink line was darker. (I have used digital, clear blue rapid, and multiple pink dye tests) While it is exciting to know early, not driving myself crazy is harder than expected.
